| Before you can submit a paper, you must register. At the top of the left panel, click "Register." When you log in with your pre-registered ID and temporary password, you will be prompted to register your information. Change your password and complete the requested information. You can change your password and/or information any time by clicking "Author Profile" on the left panel.
Submission to ETRI Journal is open to any author regardless of whether the work is a regular paper or letter. If you are ready to submit a paper, click "Submit a New Paper" on the left panel. You should refer to the information in "Information for Authors." You can check your paper's review status at "Paper Status." | |
Editorial Board
The Editorial Committee of ETRI Journal is composed of members of ETRI along with professionals from research institutes and universities throughout Korea and the world. Each member of the committee is an expert with a distinguished record in one of the research areas covered by the journal.
To ensure that ETRI Journal publishes only high quality technical material, all submitted manuscripts undergo peer review. The Editorial Committee of ETRI Journal is responsible for making the final decision on every manuscript, for making that decision in as timely a manner as possible under the given conditions, and for ensuring that the decision is based on a fair and objective analysis of the manuscript's merits.
When a manuscript is submitted to ETRI Journal, the Editorial Committee first determines if the topic fits the interests of ETRI Journal's readers. Appropriate manuscripts then enter a blind peer review process.
The Editorial Committee assigns five reviewers for regular papers and three for letters. Authors do not know the identities of the reviewers and reviewers do not know the identities of the authors. The reviewers use a standard review form provided by ETRI Journal. The Committee chooses reviewers on the basis of peer networking, current references cited in the manuscript, and author recommendations.
The Committee passes the reviewers' comments on to the authors and according to its discretion returns authors' responses to the reviewers. The Committee decides whether the authors' responses and the revised manuscript should be reviewed by the original reviewers for additional comments.
Editors and reviewers keep confidential all material in manuscripts they have access to.
The Editorial Committee makes its final decision according to the following factors: recommendations of reviewers, topical fields and subjects, novelty, and the quality of written expression.
The most time-consuming part of the publication process is securing the reviewers and their recommendations. The first cycle, from submission of the manuscript to the return of all the reviewers' recommendations, takes from three to six months. The second cycle, from submission of the revised manuscript to the notification of the final decision, is from two to six months. The Editorial Committee and the Editorial and Publication staff are committed to streamlining the publication process wherever possible.
