The Journal of Scheduling (JOSH) provides a recognized global forum for the publication of all forms of scheduling research. First published in June 1998, JOSH covers advances in scheduling research, such as the latest techniques, applications, theoretical issues and novel approaches to problems. The Journal is of direct relevance to the areas of Computer Science, Discrete Mathematics, Operational Research, Engineering, Management, Artificial Intelligence, Construction, Distribution, Manufacturing, Transport, Aerospace and Retail and Service Industries. These disciplines face complex scheduling needs and all stand to gain from advances in scheduling technology and understanding.
Unique - the only peer reviewed Journal with a broad coverage of the techniques and applications of scheduling across differing disciplines.
Essential reading - an invaluable resource for all academics and practitioners involved in scheduling and scheduling-related problems.

MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION OF ACCEPTED MANUSCRIPTS
Final versions of accepted manuscripts (including notes, references, tables, and legends) should be typed double-spaced of 8 ½ ¡Á11¡å (22 cm ¡Á 29 cm) white paper with 1¡å (2.5 cm) margins on all sides. Sections should appear in the following order: title page, abstract, text, notes, references, tables, figure legends, and figures.
Title Page. The title page should include the article title, authors' names and permanent affiliations, and the name, current address, e-mail address and telephone number of the person to whom page proofs and reprints should be sent.
Abstract. The following page should include an abstract of not more than 100 words and a list of two to six keywords. Also include JEL classification number.
Text. The text of the article should begin on a new page. Each heading should be designated by arabic numerals (1, 2, etc.) and subsection headings should be numbered 1.1, 1.2, etc.
Figures, tables, and displayed equations should be numbered consecutively throughout the text (1, 2, etc.). Equation numbers should appear flush right in parentheses.
Notes. Acknowledgments and related information should appear in a note designated by an asterisk after the last author's name, and subsequent notes should be numbered consecutively and designated by superscripts (1, 2, etc.) in the text. All notes should be typed double-spaced beginning on a separate page following the text.
References. References in the text should follow the author¡ªdate format (e.g., Brown (1986), Jones (1978a, 1978b), Smith and Johnson (1983)). References should be typed double-spaced beginning on a separate page following the notes, according to the following samples (journal and book titles may be underlined rather than italicized). References with up to three authors should include the names of each author, references with four or more authors should cite the first author and add ¡°et al.¡±

Tables. Tables should be titled and typed double-spaced, each on a separate sheet, following the references. Notes to tables should be designated by superscript letters (a, b, etc.) within each table and typed double-spaced on the same page as the table. Use descriptive labels rather than computer acronyms, and explain all abbreviations. When tables are typed on oversized paper, please submit both the original and a reduced copy.

Authors should submit one 5¡å ¡Á 7¡å (13 cm ¡Á 18 cm) original and two photocopies of each figure, with authors' names, manuscript title, and figure number on the back of each original and copy (use gummed labels if necessary to avoid damaging originals). Figures should be enclosed in a separate envelope backed by cardboard and without staples or paper clips. Figure legends should be typed double-spaced on a separate sheet following the tables.
