About the journal
The Electronic Journal of Probability publishes full-size research articles in probability theory. The Electronic Communications in Probability (ECP), a sister journal of EJP, publishes short notes and research announcements in probability theory.
Both ECP and EJP are official journals of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics
and the Bernoulli society.
Both EJP and ECP have been selected for coverage in Thomson ISI® services. Beginning with Volume 9 (2004), information on the contents of these two Journals are indexed in:

• ISI Alerting Services®
• CompuMath Citation Index®
• Current Contents®/Physical, Chemical, and Earth Sciences®

Instructions to Authors
Preparation of Accepted Manuscripts
The source file
Papers submitted to EJP/ECP must be typed in a recent version of TeX/LaTeX2e/AmSTeX. We will need the TeX/LaTeX2e/AmSTeX source file to prepare the paper for publication, but this file will not be made available to the general public. It is the author's responsibility to provide electronic files which can be read and printed by the editors and referees. It is essential that the file should be able to run on a standard TeX installation.
As EJP and ECP are free journals we do not have technical assistance available for copyediting papers. It is therefore the author's responsibility to ensure that the paper is typed in a fashion acceptable for publication.
If possible, the TeX file should be set up so that it is a single file that can be processed with a single tex/latex/amstex command. We prefer that no separate macro, bibtex or .sty files should be necessary.
The paper has to be typed in some form of TeX/LaTeX/AmSTeX but we do not specify any particular format. The paper has to be typed in a neat way. Theorems, definitions and proofs have to be clearly marked.
FRONT PAGE: After the manuscript is accepted for publication, it has to be edited so that it contains the following information on the front page.
Title.
Author's name, affiliation, postal and electronic address.
Abstract.
Keywords.
AMS subject classification.
Date of submission and date of final version accepted by EJP.
Acknowledgement of support.
The following item may appear on the first page but is optional.
Author's personal WWW home page URL.
No other information should appear on the first page. EJP logo, Paper number, volume and year and Journal URL will be inserted by the Managing Editor.
The abstract and bibliography in html format
The file abs.html must contain a plain text version of the abstract, without any tex mathematic formula if possible.
The file bib.html should contain standard references with links
to MathSciNet.

AMS has a tool called Mref for creating standard references with links
to MathSciNet. See

Here is a python script
mref.py
written by Jim Pitman. It can convert a typical .bbl file written in plain TeX or LaTeX format into an html file with MR links. The script is written as a filter, so on unix you save the script as e.g. mref.py then
% chmod +rwx mref.py
% cat filename.bbl | mref.py > filename.bbl.html
The conversion is accurate 90 percent of the time so be sure to check the results. However it does not work on preprint items nor on items that do not have Math Review. You then have to edit these items according to the examples given in sample-bib.html.
Submission of the prepared files
After the paper is accepted, please go to the EJP website
http://www.math.washington.edu/~ejpecp, login as an author and upload the tex source file of the final version together with abs.html and bib.html files.
Attention, you need to list every author of the paper.
If you do not manage to register online, or to upload the necessary files, you may email these files to the managing editor at ejpecpme@math.univ-nantes.fr. Please make explicit in your message that you want the managing editor to register online and upload files on your behalf.
Do not forget to give the reference number given to you by the chief editor during the refereeing process (EJP-year-number).

Registration and login are required to submit an article online.
Submission Preparation Checklist (All items required)
• The submission has not been previously published nor is it before another journal for consideration.
• The submission has been accepted by the chief editor.
• The submission file is in TeX/LaTeX2e/AmSTeX document file format.
The abstract and bibliography html files are prepared.
• The copyright form (see below) has been signed and send by regular mail, fax or as a scanned jpeg file to the managing editor.

Copyright for articles published in this journal is retained by the authors, with first publication rights granted to the journal. By virtue of their appearance in this open access journal, articles are free to use, with proper attribution, in educational and other non-commercial settings.
The authors of papers published in EJP/ECP retain the copyright. We ask for the permission to use the material in any form. We also require that the initial publication in EJP or ECP is acknowledged in any future publication of the same article.
