Instructions to Authors

Please note that The  Journal of Agromedicine: Practice, Policy, and Research  uses CrossCheck™ software to screen papers for unoriginal material. By submitting your paper to The  Journal of Agromedicine: Practice, Policy, and Research you are agreeing to any necessary originality checks your paper may have to undergo during the peer review and production processes.

The  Journal of Agromedicine: Practice, Policy, and Research  focuses on translational research that aids the rural health care provider, as well as public health practitioners and those involved in health and safety issues.


SUBMISSION

The  Journal of Agromedicine  receives all its manuscript submissions electronically via their ScholarOne Manuscripts website located at:  http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/wagr . ScholarOne Manuscripts allows for rapid submission of original and revised manuscripts, as well as facilitating the review process and internal communication between authors, editors and reviewers via a web-based platform. ScholarOne Manuscripts technical support can be accessed via  http://scholarone.com/services/support/ . If you have any other requests please contact Kathie Smith, the journal’s editorial assistant, or Scott Heiberger, managing editor, at agromedicine@mcrf.mfldclin.edu . Each manuscript must be accompanied by a statement that it has not been published elsewhere and that it has not been submitted simultaneously for publication elsewhere. Authors from whom we receive a valid email address will be given an opportunity to purchase reprints of individual articles, or copies of the complete print issue. These authors will also be given complimentary access to their final article on  Taylor & Francis Online . All accepted manuscripts, artwork, and photographs become the property of the publisher.

Your manuscript may be approximately as follows:

 

• Editorial: 1000 words
• Practice/Case History: 2000-3000 words

• Policy: 2000-3000 words

• Original Research: 3000-4000 words

• Major Reviews: 3500-5000 words
• Brief reports (book reviews, abstracts, meeting summaries): 500 words

All parts of the manuscript should be typewritten, double-spaced, with margins of at least one inch on all sides. Number manuscript pages consecutively throughout the paper. The title of the paper should not exceed 80 characters, including spaces. Authors should also supply a shortened version of the title suitable for the running head, not exceeding 50 character spaces. Each article should be summarized in an abstract of not more than 250 words. Avoid abbreviations, diagrams, and reference to the text in the abstract.

 

REFERENCES

Cite in text sequentially, superscript. List numerically in the References section in order of appearance in the text, not alphabetically.

ILLUSTRATIONS

Illustrations submitted (line drawings, halftones, photos, photomicrographs, etc.) should be digital files. Digital files are recommended for highest quality reproduction and should follow these guidelines:

• 300 dpi or higher 
• Sized to fit on journal page

• EPS, TIFF, or PSD format only

• Submitted as separate files, not embedded in text files

 

COLOR ILLUSTRATIONS

Color art will be reproduced in color in the online publication at no additional cost to the author. Color illustrations will also be considered for print publication; however, the author will be required to bear the full cost involved in color art reproduction. Please note that color reprints can only be ordered if print reproduction costs are paid.  Print Rates : $900 for the first page of color; $450 per page for the next three pages of color. A custom quote will be provided for articles with more than four pages of color. Art not supplied at a minimum of 300 dpi will not be considered for print. Pleasure ensure color figures submitted for publication will render clearly in black and white conversion for print.

TABLES AND FIGURES

Tables and figures (illustrations) should not be embedded in the text, but should be included as separate sheets or files. A short descriptive title should appear above each table with a clear legend and any footnotes suitably identified below. All units must be included. Figures should be completely labeled, taking into account necessary size reduction. Captions should be typed, double-spaced, on a separate page of the electronic document.

PROOFS

Page proofs are sent to the designated author using Taylor & Francis’ Central Article Tracking System (CATS). They must be carefully checked and returned within 48 hours of receipt.
 

COMPLIMENTARY POLICY AND REPRINTS

 

Authors for whom we receive a valid email address will be provided an opportunity to purchase reprints of individual articles, or copies of the complete print issue.  These authors will also be given complimentary access to their final article on  Taylor & Francis Online.  

 

OPEN ACCESS

 

Taylor & Francis Open Select provides authors or their research sponsors and funders with the option of paying a publishing fee and thereby making an article permanently available for free online access –  open access  – immediately on publication to anyone, anywhere, at any time.
