Instructions to Authors
Editorial Content
The journal is read by both practitioners and academicians and its content reflects the unique blend of its audience. Articles published in the journal are practical and contain information that can be applied to the problems facing today's IS manager. Case studies are always welcomed.
Research papers help IS managers prepare for upcoming changes in information technology. Surveys help them to evaluate current technology and management options available to them as well as the current state of information technology. Vendor white papers objectively explain technology and place it in the context of the current overall information technology and management trends.
Review Process and Acceptance Policy
The journal publishes articles from a wide variety of authors, each requiring its own type of review process.
Unsolicited Articles. All articles that have been submitted but have not been solicted for publication undergo a blind, peer-review process. This involves the journal's in-house editor, its consulting editor, Dawna Travis Dewire, and at least one member of its board of advisors. The review process usually takes four to six weeks. We ask that you complete a questionnaire and include it with your submission.
In most cases, authors of unsolicited manuscripts are asked to revise their manuscripts. Revising a manuscript does not guarantee its acceptance for publication, and an author may be asked for further revisions.
Solicited Articles. Because the journal publishes issues focusing on special themes, its editors do solicit articles from generally recognized experts on these themes. These articles are read by the in-house and consulting editor and in most cases accepted without revision for publication.
Writing and Illustration Guidelines
Information Systems Management uses the same formatting guidelines as does its parent Auerbach Publications. Above is a link to Auerbach Publication's guidelines for writing and illustrating an article.
