About the journal

Journal of Travel & Tourism Marketing

The Journal of Travel & Tourism Marketing® is an applied research journal that serves as a medium through which researchers and managers in the field of travel and tourism can exchange ideas and keep abreast with the latest developments. Before this journal was created, there was no professional journal dedicated entirely to the specific area of travel and tourism marketing from managerial perspectives. And in a recent survey of directors of four-year hospitality programs, the journal was rated among the top six refereed journals covering the field. This journal— ranked #4 among all major tourism & hospitality journals within the United States on the combined factors of scientific/practical relevance, reputation, and importance for career advancement by the Journal of Travel Research —expands professionals' knowledge in the field through the innovations in applied marketing research and management practices.  The Journal of Travel & Tourism Marketing ® is also regarded as one of the "A" journals (or top journals) in many tourism and hospitality schools around the world.  The Australian Business Deans Council has given the journal an "A" ranking in its 2013 Journal Quality List. 

Defining travel and tourism in the broadest sense, the journal includes travel services, tourism management organizations, meetings and convention services, and transportation services. As an international journal, the Journal of Travel & Tourism Marketing® places special emphasis on submissions reflecting the perspectives of contributors from different countries. Travel and tourism educators, consultants, business researchers, and government policymakers can benefit from the timely information presented in this innovative journal.

The Journal of Travel & Tourism Marketing® publishes refereed articles on travel and tourism related to marketing management practices, applied research studies, critical reviews on major issues, and business and government policies affecting travel and tourism marketing. Publishing articles from a variety of perspectives, some possible topics for articles suitable for the journal include:

All parts of the manuscript should be typewritten, double-spaced, with margins of at least one inch on all sides. Number manuscript pages consecutively throughout the paper. Authors should also supply a shortened version of the title suitable for the running head, not exceeding 50 character spaces. Each article should be summarized in an abstract of not more than 100 words. Avoid abbreviations, diagrams, and reference to the text in the abstract.

Illustrations

Illustrations submitted (line drawings, halftones, photos, photomicrographs, etc.) should be clean originals or digital files. Digital files are recommended for highest quality reproduction and should follow these guidelines:
  • 300 dpi or higher
  • Sized to fit on journal page
  • EPS, TIFF, or PSD format only
  • Submitted as separate files, not embedded in text files

Color Reproduction
 

Color art will be reproduced in the online production at no additional cost to the author. Color illustrations will also be considered for the print publication; however, the author will bear the full cost involved in color art reproduction. Please note that color reprints can only be ordered if the print reproduction costs are paid. Print Rates: $900 for the first page of color; $450 for the next 3 pages of color. A custom quote will be provided for authors with more than 4 pages of color. Art not supplied at a minimum of 300 dpi will not be considered for print.

Tables and Figures

Tables and figures (illustrations) should not be embedded in the text, but should be included as separate sheets or files. A short descriptive title should appear above each table with a clear legend and any footnotes suitably identified below. All units must be included. Figures should be completely labeled, taking into account necessary size reduction. Captions should be typed, double-spaced, on a separate sheet.

Proofs

Page proofs are sent to the designated author using Taylor & Francis’ Central Article Tracking System (CATS). They must be carefully checked and returned within 48 hours of receipt.

Reprints and Issues

Reprints of individual articles are available for order at the time authors review page proofs. A discount on reprints is available to authors who order before print publication.

Complimentary Policy

Authors from whom we receive a valid email address will be given an opportunity to purchase reprints of individual articles, or copies of the complete print issue. These authors will also be given complimentary access to their final article on Taylor & Francis Online .
