About the journal

Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery (Official Publication of the Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association)

Published three issues a year starting 2005, the Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery is the official publication of the Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association. Since 1962, the Journal has been an international forum for scientific research. It allows orthopaedic surgeons and scientists of the Asia Pacific Region to continuously update themselves with the latest discoveries and advances of orthopaedic surgery.

The Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery is indexed in MEDLINE/Index Medicus, Science Citation Index Expanded, SCOPUS, and Index Copernicus, with a current impact factor of 0.701.

Author Guidelines

The Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery publishes original articles and review articles for the dissemination of new and valuable information to orthopaedic surgeons everywhere, particularly to those in the Asia Pacific regions. The Journal welcomes original scientific contributions irrespective of ethnic, political, or geographical affiliations. Accepted articles become the permanent property of the Journal and may not be published elsewhere except with the written permission of the Editor.

All papers submitted will be blinded of authors' names and origins and subject to screening before being peer-reviewed by Editorial Board members. Authors are requested to ensure that they comply with the following checklist and format when submitting papers by email to jos@josonline.org.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The article is original, that it is not under consideration by another journal, and that it has not been previously published. This work does not infringe on any copyright or other rights in any other work. All necessary reproduction permissions, licenses, and clearances have been obtained.
  2. Manuscripts should be in English, single-spaced, left-hand justified, in a 12-point font, and saved as one single Word document. Presentation should be in the order of title, abstract, key words, main text (introduction, methods, results, discussion, and conclusion), references, tables, and figures. Key words should be taken from Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) from Index Medicus. References should be numbered in the order they appear in the text; do not alphabetize. The Vancouver style should be followed. Journal titles should be abbreviated in accordance with Index Medicus. Please see the Author Guidelines for details.
  3. To ensure a blind review, author information must be masked. The author names, affiliation, and contact information should be entered as metadata (in STEP 3).
  4. Any affiliations with or financial involvement in any organisation or entity with a direct financial interest in the subject matter or materials discussed in the manuscript are disclosed in the Comments for Editor below. Any financial or material project support of this research is identified in an acknowledgement in the manuscript.
