About the journal
The Review of International Political Economy (RIPE) has successfully established itself as a leading international journal dedicated to the systematic exploration of the international political economy from a plurality of perspectives.
The journal encourages a global and interdisciplinary approach across issues and fields of inquiry. It seeks to act as a point of convergence for political economists, international relations scholars, geographers, and sociologists, and is committed to the publication of work that explores such issues as international trade and finance, production and consumption, and global governance and regulation, in conjunction with issues of culture, identity, gender, and ecology.
The journal eschews monolithic perspectives and seeks innovative work that is both pluralist in its orientation and engages with the broad literatures of IPE.
Instructions to Authors
Only electronic copies will be accepted , in MS Word (.doc), highly preferred, or rich-text format (.rtf) for PCs, sent via e-mail to ripe@brown.edu, with "Submission -(authorname)" as first word in subject line. Review of International Political Economy 111 Thayer Street Brown University Box 1970 Providence, RI USA 02912-1970
Please visit http://www.watsoninstitute.org/ripe/ to view our full submission guidelines.
Submissions should be in English, typed in double spacing with wide margins (including notes and references), on one side of A4 paper. The title only should appear on the first page of the manuscript. The author's name, address, telephone, fax and e-mail details should be supplied on a separate sheet of paper. Authors are requested to supply short biographical notes for inclusion in the journal.
Articles should be written as clearly and as concisely as possible, avoiding unnecessary jargon. They must be preceded by an abstract of not more than 200 words and six keywords suitable for indexing and on-line search purposes.
Tables and figures should be presented on separate sheets with their desired position in the text indicated in the margin of the manuscript. Permission to reproduce copyright material must be obtained by the authors before submission and any acknowledgements should be included in the typescript or captions as appropriate.
The Harvard system of referencing is preferred in this journal. Notes should be used only where necessary to avoid interrupting the continuity of the text. They should be numbered consecutively, using superscript arabic numerals in the text, and placed at the end of the article before the references.
Full notes on the preferred presentation and style for submission of the manuscripts, including examples of referencing, will be provided to authors by the editors. Contributors are requested to adhere to these guidelines as closely as possible. Page proofs will be sent for correction to the first-named author unless otherwise requested. The difficulty and expense involved in making corrections at the page proof stage make it essential for authors to prepare their typescripts carefully and avoid making amendments on the proofs. Our aim is rapid publication: this will be helped if authors provide good copy.
