About the journal

Creativity and Innovation Management fills a crucial gap in management literature between the theory and practice of organizing imagination and innovation. It gives managers insights into introducing innovation within their organizations and accelerating the development of creative performance in their staff. The journal's central consideration is how to challenge and facilitate creative potential, and how then to imbed this into result orientated innovative business development.
Aims and Scope
Creativity and Innovation Management bridges the gap between the theory and practice of organizing imagination and innovation. The journal's central consideration is how to challenge and facilitate creative potential, and how then to imbed this into result oriented innovative business development. The creativity of individuals, coupled with structured and well-managed innovation projects, create a sound base from which organizations may operate effectively within their inter-organisational and societal environment. Today, successful operations must go hand in hand with the ability to anticipate future opportunities. Therefore, a cultural focus and inspiring leadership are as crucial to an organization's success, as efficient structural arrangements and support facilities. This is reflected in the Journal's contents:
-
Leadership for creativity and innovation; the behavioural side of innovation management.
-
Organisational structures and processes to support creativity and innovation; interconnecting creative and innovative processes.
-
Creativity, motivation, work environment/creative climate and organizational behaviour, creative and innovative entrepreneurship.
-
Deliberate development of creative and innovative skills including the use of a variety of tools such as TRIZ, CPS etc.
-
Creative professions and personalities; creative products; the relationship between creativity and humor; arts & humanities side of creativity.
Articles are welcomed from all parts of the world. If possible, articles should demonstrate contextual differences, while seeking learning lessons for wider audiences. The editors welcome suggestions for special theme issues.
Keywords
innovation, management, creativity

Instructions to Authors
Creativity and Innovation Management has now adopted ScholarOne Manuscripts, the electronic editorial office run by ScholarOne. The new system brings with it a whole host of benefits including:
• Quick and easy submission • Administration centralised and reduced • Significant decrease in peer review times
Please go to the following site to submit an article via the ScholarOne Manuscripts system: http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/CIM. Full instructions and a help facility are also available. Please note that all submissions to the journal must be made via the online electronic editorial office.
Please note that submitting a manuscript to this journal constitutes an agreement not to submit the same paper simultaneously to another scientific journal and a declaration that it is not being considered for publication elsewhere while it is under review of – or revision for – Creativity and Innovation Management. Furthermore, authors are reminded that large-scale reuse of material they have previously published (redundant or duplicate publication) is unacceptable; suspected cases will be handled in line with Committee on Publication Ethics guidelines.
Manuscripts should be supplied with a separate title page file which includes full author contact details and a short biography of each contributing author. The corresponding author’s e-mail address should be included within their biography. The preferred length of articles is between 5,000 and 7,000 words (including references). A total word count is requested.
Paragraphs should not be numbered, and there should be no more than three (clearly marked) levels of subheading. Footnotes should be kept to a minimum. All pages (and footnotes) should be numbered consecutively, and footnotes should be included at the end of the main article file. Footnote indicators should be included as superscript numbers or typed within parentheses in the exact position required.
Where published works are referred to in the reference list, they should be listed as follows:
(Articles) Dalton, D.R. and Daily, C.M. (1999) Number of Directors and Financial Performance: A Meta-Analysis. Academy of Management Review, 22, 221-49. (Books) Adair, J. (1990) The Challenge of Innovation, Talbot Adair Press, Guildford, UK. (Article in edited book) Bowen, W.G. and Simpson, R.G. (1994) Playing the Game. In Beecher, R.G. and Daily, C.M. URL http://www.dhss.gov.uk/reports/report015285.html [accessed on 7 November 2003]
Note: Full reference details must be given along with the URL, i.e. authorship, year, title of document/report and URL. If this information is not available, the reference should be removed and the web address only should be cited in the text.
Avoid obscure references and working papers (unless absolutely vital).
Figures should be supplied as separate files to the main text, preferably in TIFF, EPS or PDF format. Please check that your text contains a reference to each figure and that you indicate within the article where each figure is to be placed. Each figure should include a descriptive title. Please click here for further information on supplying figures.

Editors Petra de Weerd-Nederhof, Olaf Fisscher and Klaasjan Visscher University of Twente School of Management and Governance Dept. of Technology and Organization P.O. Box 217 7500 AE Enschede, The Netherlands E-mail: j.m.visser-groeneveld@utwente.nl Tel: +31 53 489 34 80 Fax: +31 53 489 21 59
Review process Each Submission to Creativity and Innovation Management will first be subjected to a review by the editors. If the editors judge the article to comply with the journal’s standards of content and quality then the submission will be entered into a double blind review process with at least two reviews per submission. Structured referee comments, together with editorial comments (if any) will be sent to the authors together with a reject/major revision/minor revision/accept decision.
Early View EarlyView articles are complete full-text articles published online in advance of their publication in a printed issue. Articles are therefore available as soon as they are ready, rather than having to wait for the next scheduled print issue. Early View articles are complete and final. They have been fully reviewed, revised and edited for publication, and the author’s final corrections have been incorporated. Because they are in final form, no changed can be made after online publication. The nature of Early View articles means that they do not yet have volume, issue or page numbers, so Early View articles cannot be cited in the traditional way. They are therefore given a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), which allows the article to be cited and tracked before it is allocated to an issue. After print publication, the DOI remains valid and can continue to be used to cite and access the article.
