About the journal

The European Union Control Association (EUCA) has among its objectives to promote the development of the discipline. Apart from the European Control Conferences, the European Journal of Control is the Association's main channel for the dissemination of important contributions in the field.
The aim of the Journal is to publish high quality papers on the theory and practice of control and systems engineering.
The scope of the Journal will be wide and cover all aspects of the discipline including methodologies, techniques and applications.
Research in control and systems engineering is necessary to develop new concepts and tools which enhance our understanding and improve our ability to design and implement high performance control systems. Submitted papers should stress the practical motivations and relevance of their results.
The design and implementation of a successful control system requires the use of a range of techniques :

   - Modelling
   - Robustness Analysis
   - Identification
   - Optimization
   - Control Law Design
   - Numerical analysis
   - Fault Detection, and so on.

Papers dealing with the interplay between such techniques will be particularly welcome.
Applications papers which emphasize methodology used, implementation and commissioning issues are strongly encouraged.
The Journal will also publish tutorial expositions and state-of-the-art reviews. Interested authors for this type of paper should first contact the Editor in Chief and submit an extended summary of approximately 2000 words.
The European Journal of Control wishes to encourage (when appropriate) reviewers, editors and authors to participate in discussion sections at the end of published papers. There is no standard format for a discussion section, but its contents should serve to help the readership. For example, views could be expressed on the contribution of the paper in a particular area, its likely impact on industrial practice could be described, or directions for further work suggested. Whatever format the discussion takes, it will be concluded by the author(s). Invitations to participate in the discussion will only be sent out after the paper has been accepted, and all contributors will appear in the issues Table of Contents.

Papers from any country in the world are welcome. All submitted papers should be written in English.

EJC is included in ISI Current Contents data base.

Submission by ordinary mail :

Send 7 copies. Enclose a cover letter that includes a statement that the paper has not been submitted or published elsewhere and the name of any meeting where the paper has been presented or to which the paper has been submitted.

The manuscript should be written in English, and should bear the name(s) and full affiliation(s) of the author(s) and the name and mailing address of the corresponding author. All the correspondence will be sent to the first author if this is not done.

An abstract of less 300 words should appear at the beginning of the paper, followed by a number of keywords (3 to 5).

Use the reference style "plain" which is based on a standard Latex procedure : the entries in the bibliography are ordered alphabetically ; each is assigned a running number in square brackets as in-text reference marker.
