About the journal
Over the last decades there has been a remarkable expansion of research activities in the field of modern institutional economics. Not only is the volume of new writing growing rapidly but modern institutional economics now has wide recognition as a distinct field of study. The Journal of Institutional and Theoretical Economics provides a specialized forum for the publication of this research. It continues with modern analytical methods the tradition of the Zeitschrift fuer die gesamte Staatswissenschaft, one of the oldest journals in the field of political economy, founded in 1844.
The Journal of Institutional and Theoretical Economics is a quarterly review specializing in modern institutional economics. Some of the topics are: economics of property rights and of institutional evolution, transaction cost economics, contract theory, economic history, inter-disciplinary studies with an economic perspective.
The Journal of Institutional and Theoretical Economics serves as a valuable source of information for scholars in modern microeconomic research, particularly in the fields of the new institutional economics, public choice, economic analysis of law, applied theory of incentives, and new economic history.
The Journal of Institutional and Theoretical Economics assures its quality standard by an advisory board and an international network of referees.
The Journal of Institutional and Theoretical Economics is listed in the Journal of Economic Literature, the Social Science Citation Index, the International Bibliography of the Social Sciences, and COREJ
