Potential Analysis
|
The journal publishes original papers dealing with potential theory and its applications, focusing on the following areas: Estimations of the solutions of elliptic and parabolic equations; analysis of semi-groups, resolvent kernels, harmonic spaces and Dirichlet forms; Markov processes, Markov kernels, stochastic differential equations, diffusion processes and Levy processes; analysis of diffusions, heat kernels and resolvent kernels on fractals; infinite dimensional analysis, Gaussian analysis, analysis of infinite particle systems, of interacting particle systems, of Gibbs measures, of path and loop spaces; connections with global geometry, linear and non-linear analysis on Riemannian manifolds, Lie groups, graphs, and other geometric structures; non-linear or semilinear generalizations of elliptic or parabolic equations and operators; harmonic analysis, ergodic theory, dynamical systems; boundary value problems, Martin boundaries, Poisson boundaries, etc. |

Instructions to Authors
The journal Potential Analysis prefers the submission of papers in LaTeX, however papers submitted in AMSTeX and LAMSTeX can also be accepted. For the purpose of refereeing, papers for publication should be initially submitted in hardcopy (fourfold) to: Kluwer Academic Publishers Editorial Office Potential Analysis P.O. Box 990 3300 AZ Dordrecht The Netherlands
The eventual supply of accepted-for-publication papers in their final form on MS-DOS or Apple Macintosh diskettes in LaTeX together with a hardcopy version (in case anything needs to be checked) will ensure more rapid publication. A LaTeX style file can be obtained from the Publisher (Internet: http://www.wkap.nl/authors/jrnlstylefiles/)
Manuscripts (in four copies) should be typed double spaced on one side of plain paper, with wide margins to allow for editorial notes and instructions to the printer. Equations and symbols should be typed if possible; in any case, clarity is essential. The first page of the manuscript should contain the article title, author¡®s name, affiliation, and present address (for receipt of proofs), and if necessary a running head (condensed title) which should not exceed 60 characters, including spaces. Each page of the manuscript should be consecutively numbered, including pages of references and captions. Abstract and Key words: Include an Abstract of 100-200 words and give 3-5 key words.
Symbols: Unusual symbols should be identified in the margin, and an alternative or equivalent symbol or sign should be provided if the one required is rare. Special care should be taken to distinguish between the letter O and zero, the letter l and the number one, kappa and k, mu and u, nu and v, eta and n. Subscripts and superscripts should be marked if not clear. The use of italics is to be indicated by single underlining; bold-face by wavy underlining.
Notes which do not belong to the head of the article should be numbered consecutively. They should be placed at the end of the article, before the references, not as footnotes. A note which refers to the head of the article should be indicated by an asterisk. Notes should be kept to an absolute minimum.
Figures should be referred to as ¡¯Fig.¡® in the captions, but spelled out in the text. They should be numbered consecutively. Give a detailed caption to each figure, refer to it in the text and note the approximate location in the margin. Collect all captions on a separate sheet or sheets. Half-tone photographs should be of high contrast. Line drawings should be in Indian ink on white or tracing paper at roughly twice or three times the desired scale. Only originals, or if unavailable, first class photocopies are acceptable. Figures which are not reproducible may hold up publication until new figures are obtained. Please indicate the author¡®s name, the figure number and its top in blue pencil on the back of each illustration.
References should be numbered and listed at the end of the article. A journal reference should comprise name(s), initial(s), full title of paper, name of journal (underlined), volume number (wavy underlined), year of publication, and first and last pages in the following style:
1.Cameron, R.H. and Martin, W.T.: ¡¯The Transformation of Wiener Integrals by Nonlinear Transformations¡®, Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 75 (1953), 552-575.
A book reference should comprise name(s), initial(s), full title (underlined), publisher, place and year of publication in the following style: 3. Liptser, R.Sh. and Shiryayev, A.N.: Theory of Martingales, Kluwer Academic Publishers, Dordrecht, 1989.
Proofs: The author will receive two first proofs in page form from the publisher along with an annotated copy of the manuscript and is requested to return one corrected proof with the manuscript to the publisher without delay. Second proofs will be read only by the publisher to ensure that corrections have been made as noted by the author. Care should be taken to ensure that all contributions are typographically correct. A few corrections to the text are acceptable, but authors may expect to be charged for the cost of making extensive alterations to the text and/or illustrations once in proof.
Offprints: The first-named author will receive, without charge, 50 offprints of the article. Additional offprints may be ordered when the proofs are returned to the publisher. No page charges are levied on authors or their institutions.
Potential Analysis is surveyed by Statistical Theory and Method Abstracts, Zentralblatt f¨¹r Mathematik, Mathematical reviews, Current Mathematical Publications, MathSci, SciSearch, Research Alert, Compu-Math Citation Index, Current Contents/Physical, Chemical & Earth Sciences.
