About the journal

This review journal provides the most current information on research in immunology. The published reviews are written by invited authors who are leaders in their various fields and emphasis is given to subjects which have immediate relevance to medicine. Each issue of International Reviews of Immunology contains 4-6 solicited articles, is devoted to a single topic, and is edited by a guest editor.

This review series is relevant to all immunologists, molecular biologists, microbiologists and physicians who are involved with autoimmune diseases. The editors' intent is that this journal provide the most recent information, filling the lag which presently exists between annual reviews and the original research articles. The turnaround time is short, in order to insure that the reviews contain the latest data. An international board of editors makes sure that the material presented is as broad as possible, both in terms of the geographic distribution of contributors and the range of interests represented

Submission of Manuscripts

An electronic copy of the manuscript and associated files should be submitted to the Editor-in-Chief, Adrian Bot, at IRI@submit.taylorandfrancis.com. The manuscript should be prepared using MS Word or WordPerfect and should be clearly labeled with the authors?names, file name, and software program. Each manuscript must be accompanied by a statement that it has not been published elsewhere and that it has not been submitted simultaneously for publication elsewhere. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material from other sources and are required to sign an agreement for the transfer of copyright to the publisher. All accepted manuscripts, artwork, and photographs become the property of the publisher.

All parts of the manuscript should be typewritten, double-spaced, with margins of at least one inch on all sides. Number manuscript pages consecutively throughout the paper. Authors should also supply a shortened version of the title suitable for the running head, not exceeding 50 character spaces. Each article should be summarized in an abstract of no more than 100 words. Avoid abbreviations, diagrams, and reference to the text within the abstract.

References

Identify references in the text by arabic numbers in brackets and number consecutively in the reference Section in order of their first mention. References should include: names of all contributing authors, title of article, title of journal or book, volume number, location and name of the publishing company (books only), inclusive pages, and year of publication. In the reference section, list all source citations by author, and within author by year of publication. The reference list must be complete and include all references in the text. Examples:

Books:
F.H. Johnson, H. Eyring, and B.J. Stover. Theory of Rate Process in Biology and Medicine. New York: Wiley, 1974.
Periodicals:
J.R. Schreiber, G.B. Pier, M. Grout, K. Nixon and M. Patawaran, Institution of opsonic antibodies to Psuedomonas aeruginosa muciod oxopolysaccharide by an anti-idiotypic monoclonia antibody. J. Infect. Dis., 164: 507-514, 1991.

Illustrations

Digital files accompanying manuscript files should follow these guidelines for highest quality reproduction:

  • 300 dpi or higher
  • sized to fit on journal page
  • EPS, TIFF, or PSD format only
  • submitted as separate files, not embedded in text files

Color illustrations will be considered for publication; however, the author will be required to bear the full cost involved in their printing and publication. The charge for the first figure is $900.00. Subsequent figures, totaling no more than 4 text pages, are $450.00 each. Each color figure thereafter will cost $100.00. The publisher has the right to refuse publication of any artwork deemed unacceptable.

Tables and Figures

Tables and figures should not be embedded in the text, but should be included as separate files. A short descriptive title should appear above each table with a clear legend and any footnotes suitably identified below. All units must be included. Figures should be completely labeled, taking into account necessary size reduction. Captions should be typed, double-spaced, on a separate sheet.

Page Proofs

One set of page proofs is sent to the corresponding author. Proofs should be carefully checked and returned within 48 hours. Alterations made in proof should be absolutely minimal.
