Aims & scope
The purpose of Sequential Analysis is to contribute to theoretical and applied aspects of sequential methodologies in all areas of statistical science. Published papers highlight the development of new and important sequential approaches.
Interdisciplinary articles that emphasize the methodology of practical value to applied researchers and statistical consultants are highly encouraged. Papers that cover contemporary areas of applications including animal abundance, bioequivalence, communication science, computer simulations, data mining, directional data, disease mapping, environmental sampling, genome, imaging, microarrays, networking, parallel processing, pest management, sonar detection, spatial statistics, tracking, and engineering are deemed especially important. Of particular value are expository review articles that critically synthesize broad-based statistical issues. Papers on case-studies are also considered. All papers are refereed.

Readership
The journal emphasizes both readability and relevance to all statisticians and does not exclusively cater to a handful of specialists in the field of sequential analysis. Readership includes statisticians, mathematicians, biostatisticians, scientists, probabilists, clinicians, quality control managers, and engineers.
Instructions to Authors
Aims and Scope:
The purpose of Sequential Analysis is to publish contributions in both theoretical and applied aspects of sequential methodologies in all areas of statistical science. The journal highlights developments of new and important sequential methods as well as novel use of existing sequential methods. Interdisciplinary articles and articles emphasizing methodologies that are expected to be of practical value to applied researchers and statistical consultants are especially encouraged. Articles that deal with contemporary areas of applications including animal abundance, bioequivalence, clinical trials, communication science, computer simulations, data mining, directional data, disease mapping, environmental sampling, finance, genome, imaging, microarrays, networking, parallel processing, pest management, sonar detection, spatial statistics, tracking, and engineering are highly encouraged. Expository, review articles critically synthesizing broad-based statistical issues are deemed particularly valuable. Novel case-study articles are also welcome. The published articles should emphasize both readability and relevance in the eyes of ALL statisticians. All papers are refereed.

Authors are requested to submit manuscripts by email or by mail on disk, in MS Word or PDF format. The disk should be clearly labeled with the authors’ names, file name, and software program. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material from other sources and are required to sign an agreement for the transfer of copyright to the publisher. All accepted manuscripts, artwork, and photographs become the property of the publisher. All parts of the manuscript should be typewritten, double-spaced, with margins of at least 1.5 cm on all sides. Number manuscript pages consecutively throughout the paper. Authors should also supply a shortened version of the title suitable for the running head, not exceeding 50 character spaces. Each article should be summarized in an abstract of not more than 200 words. Consult a recent journal issue. Illustrations: Illustrations submitted (line drawings, halftones, photos, photomicrographs, etc.) should be clean originals or digital files. Digital files are recommended for highest quality reproduction and should follow these guidelines:

Color Reproduction. Color art will be reproduced in color in the online publication at no additional cost to the author. Color illustrations will also be considered for print publication; however, the author will be required to bear the full cost involved in color art reproduction. Please note that color reprints can only be ordered if print reproduction costs are paid. Print Rates: $900 for the first page; $450 per page for the next three pages of color. A custom quote will be provided for articles with more than four pages of color. Art not supplied at a minimum of 300 dpi will not be considered for print.
Tables and Figures: Tables and figures should be embedded in the text until a manuscript is finally accepted for publication. Abraham Wald Prize in Sequential Analysis: This prestigious prize is awarded to author(s) of an article that is judged the best among all published articles in Sequential Analysis journal during the preceding year. The winning paper is normally announced in a special ceremony held during the joint statistical meetings. i OpenAccess: This journal is part of Taylor & Francis’s iOpenAccess initiative, which gives authors the option to pay a one-off fee to make their article free online.
