About the journal

Marketing Science, published bimonthly by INFORMS, focuses on articles that answer important research questions in marketing. Researchers employ a rigorous mathematical modeling approach aimed at improving the actions of marketing decision makers, offering a deeper understanding of marketing phenomena. Marketing Science articles report significant findings and methodological advances related to many marketing topics, including pricing, new products, channels, promotions, salesforce management, buyer behavior, product lines, forecasting, advertising, competitive strategy, services marketing, targetability, and segmentation.

Instructions to Authors
The following are guidelines for the processing of manuscripts at Marketing Science:
• ALL manuscripts which started the review process PRIOR to November 15th, 2007, are handled manually until their final disposition. Revisions are submitted via email to Kate Kelley (kkelley@wharton.upenn.edu) with a copy to Eric Bradlow (ebradlow@wharton.upenn.edu).
• STARTING November 15th, 2007, ALL new manuscripts are submitted electronically via Manuscript Central (an online submission and review system). Submissions are no longer accepted by paper or e-mail. To access the Marketing Science Manuscript Central site go to http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/mksc.
• The first time you log on to the Marketing Science Manuscript Central site you are prompted to create an account (click on “create account” on the opening page). When creating your account please be sure you take the time to accurately choose keywords for yourself. These keywords are critical for the accurate assignment of manuscripts for your review.
• All submitted manuscripts, and subsequent revisions, are blinded (the Manuscript Central log-in process informs the Editor-in-Chief of the authors and coauthors). Upon submission, you have the opportunity to write a cover letter along with requesting preferred and nonpreferred reviewers and area editors.
• There is a new reviewer form that includes 7-8 rating scale questions, an overall recommendation, and a space for review and comments to the area editor.
• There are extensive instructions found online to support the manuscript submission and review process.
