PROPELLANTS EXPLOSIVES PYROTECHNICS
|
This international journal is a vital forum for the exchange of ideas in the areas of propellants, explosives, primers and pyrotechnics, combustion, and detonation processes. Its coverage includes the preparation, investigation, analysis, testing and evaluation of propellants and explosives. Results of theoretical and practical investigations into combustion and detonation processes such as internal ballistics of guns and rockets or high-explosive ballistics are also included.
Contributions come from specialists in chemistry, physics and technology. Details on forthcoming meetings worldwide and book reviews are also included. |

Instructions to Authors
1 General
Propellants,Explosives,Pyrotechnics¡Òis an international journal devoted
to all subjects that are implied by its title.Accepted for publication are
review articles, original papers and short communications describing
research, development or production in relation to propellants, explosives,
and pyrotechnics for all applications.
Each paper undergoes a process of review.

Authors are requested to submit manuscripts in hard copy and by floppy
disc or e-mail (WinWord 97,WorkPerfect 5.0).Illustrations and figures are
required as originals and by floppy disc or e-mail (TIFF,GIF,jpeg, wmf,
bmp).Authors should supply a fax number and an e-mail address with their
manuscript.
3 Language
Papers should be written in English.
4 Organization of manuscript
4.1 Typing
Manuscripts must be typed with a maximum of 30 lines per page (DIN A4)
4.2 Size of manuscript
Papers having a length of up to 6 printed journal-format pages will be
published free of charge;for papers exceeding this length a page charge of
127,00 per each additional page will be taxed.
4.3 Introductory
The first pages of manuscript must contain the following items:
The title of the paper.
The full names of all authors with their complete postal address.
An abstract,in English, that summarizes the contents of the papers. Its
length should not exceed 15 lines.
Keywords of the paper (4 )
4.4 References
Responsibility for the accuracy of references rests with the authors.
References are to be numbered sequentially in the order in which they are
cited in the text. The numbers should be enclosed in square brackets.
References are to be collected in numerical order at the end of the
manuscript under the heading References¡Òusing the following as
examples:
a)Journal articles
[1 ]G.Birkhoff,D.P.MacDougall,E.M.Pugh and G.Taylor,Explosives
with Lined Cavities,J.Appl.Phys.1948 ,19 ,563.
Titles of journals are to be abbreviated according to the practice of
Chemical Abstracts.
b)Unpublished work
Papers that are unpublished but have been submitted to a journal may be
cited with the journal 's name followed by in press.
c)Books
[2 ]P.Zuman,The Elucidation of Organic Electrode Processes ,
Academic Press,New York 1969 ,p.170.
Titles of books must never be abbreviated.
d)Chapters from multi-author books
[3 ]H.M.Sutton,Flow Properties of Powders and the Role of Surface
Charakter,in G.D.Parfitt,K.S.W.Sing (Eds),Characterization of
Powder Surfaces ,Academic Press,London 1976 ,p.107.
e)Patents
[4 ]B.O.Miller:U.S.Patent 2542356,1952 ,Dow Chemical Company,
USA.
f)Reports
[5 ]C.L.Mader,Fortran BKW:A Code for Computing the Detonation
Properties of Explosives,Report LA-3704,1967 ,Los Alamos
National Laboratory,Los Alamos,NM,USA.
Never use abbreviations in the name of the institution issuing the report.
Please provide the institution's address so that the reader can request a
copy of the report.
g)Papers read at conferences
[6 ]P.L.Cook,Initiation of Detonation,12th Symposiu on Explosives
and Pyrotechnics ,San Diego,13 14 March 1984,Franklin Re-
search Center,Philadelphia 1984 .
Note that journal and book titles should be in italics, the year of publication
in boldface type, and the volume number of journals in italics.
4.5 Footnotes
Footnotes to the text are to be avoided.
4.6 Tables
Every table must be referred to in the text.Tables are to be numbered with
Arabic numerals in the sequence in which they occur.
They are to be typed on extra pages at the end of the manuscript. The
position of the table should be marked in the text.
Every table must begin with a caption. The caption must explain in detail
the contents of the table.Footnotes to a table should be indicated by lower-
case letters in parentheses and typed directly under the table.
4.7 Figures and illustrations
Every figure must be referred to in the text.Figures will be printed in black
and white.
All figures are to be numbered with Arabic numerals in the sequence in
which they are cited.Every figure must be accompanied by a legend.
Legends are not to be typed under the figures, but should be collected on
separate pages.
The quality of the figures should be such that they can be reproduced
directly after reduction to 85 mm width.Numbers, letters and symbols
inscribed must be large enough to be still 1.5 mm high after the figure has
been reducted to the printing format.
a)Diagrams:Diagrams must be submitted in electronic form (see
Submission of manuscript).Photographs or photocopies of drawings
are not suitable for reproduction.
b)Photographs (halftones):Photographs of apparatus,microscopic views
or other items are to be submitted in electronic from (see Submission
of manuscripts)or as glossy prints.
c)Structural diagrams are to be submitted in electronic form (see
Submission of manuscripts).
4.8 Mathematical equations
Mathematical equations should be drawn or written in the manuscript at
the places in which they belong. They should always stand alone,i.e.
occupy extra lines. If reference to them is made repeatedly they may be
marked with Arabic numerals in parentheses.
4.9 Quantities,units,abbreviations,nomenclature
Only SI quantities and units are to be used (SI _ Syste me International
d Unite ©Vs),see:http://www.iupac.org
Symbols and abbreviations used to represent variables, constants, quantities,
properties etc.must be defined in the text at their first occurrence. In ad-
dition,it may be advisable to compile a list of all symbols and abbreviations
used at the end of the text under the heading Symbols and Abbreviations

Acknowledgements of financial support, advice or other kinds of assis-
tance should be made at the end of the paper under the heading
