The International Journal of Morphology (Revista Internacional de Morfología), Print ISSN 0717-9367; Online ISSN 0717-9202 an official publication of the Chilean, Argentine and Pan American Societies of Anatomy. It is continuation of Revista Chilena de Anatomía (Chilean Anatomical Journal) and is published quarterly.
The four issues published yearly constitute one volume. This journal covers anatomy in all its aspects-gross, histologic and developmental, -as applied to medical practice, as well as morphological aspects of molecular, cellular, systems, or evolutionary biology. Reviews, short and brief communications and Letters to the Editor are also accepted.
Manuscripts should be presented as full-length papers, short communications, or review articles (commissioned by the editors). Manuscripts will receive immediate attention upon their arrival.
They will be critically refereed by at least two independent reviewers who are either members of the Editorial Board or ad hoc referees and who are committed to processing manuscripts as quickly as possible and to the highest standards. Acceptance is based upon scientific content and presentation of the material.

CATEGORIES OF MANUSCRIPTS CONSIDERED FOR PUBLICATION
The International Journal of Morphology (Revista Internacional de Morfología), Print ISSN 0717-9367; Online ISSN 0717- 9502 an official publication of the Chilean, Argentine and Pan American Societies of Anatomy. It is the continuation of Revista Chilena de Anatomía (Chilean Anatomical Journal) and is published quarterly. The four issues published yearly constitute one volume.This journal covers anatomy in all its aspects-gross, histologic and developmental, -as applied to medical practice, as well as morphological aspects of molecular, cellular, systems, or evolutionary biology. Reviews, short and brief communications and Letters to the Editor are also accepted.
All articles submitted to International Journal of Morphology must be original. In letters to the Editor, signed by all the authors, it should be expressly declared that all manuscripts must be approved by all authors, may not have been published previously either in whole or partly, except in abstract form, and may not be under consideration by any other journal.
An original and two copies of the manuscripts should be send to the Editor. An original set of figures must accompany each copy of manuscript. All pages should be double-spaced throughout include page numbers, and have 2.5 cm margins.
Electronic submission of articles. Storage medium: CD in IBM MS-DOS, Windows, or Macintosh format. Software: Microsoft Word is preferred, although manuscripts prepared with any other microcomputer processor are acceptable. The manuscripts can be sent by email (Text and tables in word format and figures in jpg format at 300 dpi).

Form and preparation of manuscripts
ABOUT THE FORM
Manuscripts should be as concise as possible (no more than 12 pages long, including text, illustrations, and References). Only manuscripts written in English and Spanish will be considered. They should be organized as follows: title page, running title, summary and key words, introduction, material and method, results, discussion, summary and key words in Spanish (the summary translation will be made in Chile ), acknowledgments, and references. The results and discussion sections may be combined.
• Title page: should include: title, full name of author(s), institutional affiliation with complete address, running title not exceed 45 letters and spaces, and the name, address, phone and fax number, and the e-mail address of the corresponding author; if this manuscript (or grant) was subsidized, indicate the sponsorship and the number of the process at the bottom of the page.
• The summary (structured) should not exceed 300 words and should be formatted to serve in lieu of a concluding summary. It should refer concisely to the rest of the paper. Append three to five key words at the end of the summary (from the Medical Subject Heading from the Index Medicus).
• Text: Introduction, Material and Method, Result and Discussion.
• Tables and Illustrations: Each table must have a self-explanatory title, be numbered in order of appearance with Roman numerals, and be cited at an appropriate point in the text. Tables should present comparisons of data that are too cumbersome to describe in the text. Illustrations are numbered with Arabic numeral. The reverse side of each figure should have the author’s name, figure number, top side of illustration, reduction requested, and “Review Copy” or “Original” indicated. Abbreviations used on figures should be defined in the legend must match exactly those used in the text. If it is necessary, use letters, numbers or transferable symbols.
• Summary and key words in English (or in Spanish, in case the article is written in English).
• Acknowledgments.
• References: text references to literature should be arranged chronologically by author’s last name, following the standards of the journal’s technical format. Every author should be named in the References. When there are more than two authors, use the first author’s name and et al.. When references are made to more than one paper by the same author, published in the same year, refer them to as a, b, c, etc. along with the year of publications in parenthesis, only in the first quotation. The year should be repeated in each citation if the author has more than one article mentioned.

• Nomenclature. The terminology should be used according to the last edition of the Anatomic Terminology, Nomina Anatomica Veterinaria or the Nomina Anatomica Avium. The terms in Latin can be translated into the native language (English or Spanish).
• Cost of publications and reprint; Authors are encouraged to submit color illustrations when the color conveys essential scientific information. Color reproduction will be subsidized by the publisher, reducing author costs to US300 per page. (Articles in black and white =US 200).
All articles submitted for publication must be submitted in English. All articles including the translation of the summary to Spanish will be reviewed at a rate of US $50- per article. Once approved, articles submitted in Spanish will be translated to English by the International Journal of Morphology at a rate of US $100.
