About the journal

Aims and Scope

The Bulletin of Economic Research is an international journal publishing articles across the entire field of economics, econometrics and economic history. The Bulletin contains original theoretical, applied and empirical work which makes a substantial contribution to the subject and is of broad interest to economists. We welcome submissions in all fields and, with the Bulletin expanding in new areas, we particularly encourage submissions in the fields of experimental economics, financial econometrics and health economics.

In addition to full-length articles the Bulletin publishes shorter refereed articles, notes and comments; authoritative survey articles in all areas of economics and special themed issues.

Instructions to Authors

The Bulletin of Economic Research is an international journal publishing papers across the entire field of economics, econometrics and economic history. We publish theoretical, applied and empirical work. To be acceptable for publication they should make an original and substantial contribution to the subject and be of broad interest to economists at large. We strive to come to a speedy and fair decision on every submission.

In addition to full-length articles we publish duly refereed shorter articles, notes and comments. The Bulletin also has a long and continuing tradition of publishing authoritative survey articles in all areas of economics. We also publish special issues based on a theme and do encourage proposals for such special issues. The International Board of Associate Editors actively assist the editors in the editorial running of the Bulletin.

Submissions via ScholarOne Manuscripts (formerly known as Manuscript Central)
Submitted papers must not be offered to other journals while under consideration by the Bulletin of Economic Research.

Headings and references should follow the house style and diagrams should be collected at the end of the article. Diagrams may have to be redrawn for publication.

Signature of the ELF is a condition of publication and papers will not be passed to the publisher for production unless a signed form has been received. Authors can check the status of their articles online and choose to receive automated e-mails at key stages of production. The author will receive an e-mail with a unique link that enables them to register and have their article automatically added to the system. Please ensure that a complete e-mail address is provided when submitting the manuscript.
