About the journal

The journal publishes timely, critical reviews of topics related to medicinal research, broadly defined, to which the authors have made significant contributions. Appropriate topics include, but are not limited to, the underlying pathophysiology of important diseases and disease vectors; therapeutic approaches to the treatment of various diseases; the properties of molecular targets for therapeutic agents; important new methodologies facilitating the search for therapies; genomics and proteomics; structure-activity correlations of drug series; the development of new imaging and diagnostic tools; drug metabolism; drug delivery; chemical, pharmacological, pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic, and clinical characteristics of importance. Reviews are mainly solicited by the editors; however, voluntary contributions are also encouraged. In the latter case potential authors are asked to contact either co-editor with an outline before beginning to write in order to avoid duplication of effort and to ensure suitability of the topic and its level of coverage.

    Manuscript Preparation and Submission

    Online Submission

Medicinal Research Reviews is now receiving submitted manuscripts online at http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/med .

All manuscripts should now be submitted online. To submit a manuscript, launch your web browser and go to http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/med . Check for an existing user account by entering your email address in the space beneath the box that reads "Password Help." If you are submitting for the first time, and you do not find an existing account, create a new account by clicking on the words "Create Account" in the top right corner of the screen. Instructions are posted under the heading "Resources" on the login page and also within the site itself. Please be sure to read them carefully. If you experience difficulty during the submission process, contact either technical support at support@scholarone.com or the Editor-in-Chief, Professor Binghe Wang, by mail or email at the following address:

    Department of Chemistry
    Georgia State University
    P.O. Box 4098
    Atlanta, GA 30302-4098
    E-mail: wang@gsu.edu

At the end of a successful submission, a confirmation screen with manuscript number will appear and you will receive an e-mail confirming that the manuscript has been received by the journal. If this does not happen, please check your submission and/or contact tech support at support@scholarone.com .

Please note : This journal does not accept Microsoft Word 2007 documents at this time. Please use Word’s “Save As” option to save your document as an older (.doc) file type.

Submission of a manuscript to the Journal implies that the paper has not been published, that it is not being submitted for publication elsewhere, and that, if the work reported is officially sponsored, it has been released for publication.

File Format Instructions for Online Submission

Manuscript file, tables, and figures must be submitted separately.

    Text
Submit your text in DOC or RTF format. Do not embed figures or tables in this document; these should be submitted as separate files.

    Tables
Tables should be created with a word processor and saved in either DOC or RTF format. Do not embed tables in your text.

    Figures
To ensure the highest print quality, your figures must be submitted in TIF format according to the following minimum resolutions:

    • 1200 dpi (dots per inch) for black and white line art (simple bar graphs, charts, etc.)
    • 300 dpi for halftones (black and white photographs)
    • 600 dpi for combination halftones (photographs that also contain line art such as labeling or thin lines)

Vector-based figures (e.g., figures created in Adobe Illustrator) should be submitted in EPS format.

    Color Figures
In addition to the above resolution guidelines, color figures must be submitted in a CMYK colorspace. Do not submit color figures as RGB.

    Unacceptable Figure Formats
Do not submit figures in any of the following formats: JPG, GIF, PSD, CRD, PCT, PPT, PDF, XLS, DOC, BMP, 123 (or other Lotus formats).

    Manuscript Preparation

In preparing the manuscript, authors are asked to clearly identify review articles in related areas published during the last three years, if there is any, and explain how the current manuscript adds significantly to the existing literature.

All manuscripts should be double-spaced on a standard 21.5 x 28 cm page with 2.5 cm margins. A separate title page listing title, author(s), and affiliation(s) should be supplied with each manuscript including contact information (mailing address, phone and fax numbers, and e-mail address) of the corresponding author. A short synopsis (200 words or less) is required for all papers. This synopsis should be carefully prepared, as it will be incorporated into the published article as an abstract. The synopsis should be a summary of the entire paper, not just the conclusion. The author is also expected to provide three to five key words or phrases that clearly typify the outstanding points made in the manuscript.

The paper should be written as clearly and concisely as possible. Authors are referred to the appropriate sections of the Handbook for Authors of Papers in American Chemical Society Publications for guidance. The use of generic names is required in text. Trade names should be limited to appearance in footnotes. The recommendations of the IUPAC-IUB Commission on Biochemical Nomenclature should be followed for the abbreviations of natural and synthetic amino acid derivatives, peptides, polypeptides, nucleic acids, and polynucleotides.

    Figures
Number all figures with arabic numbers and cite sequentially in the manuscript. All figure captions should be typed double-spaced on a separate sheet placed at the end of the manuscript. The importance of good quality illustrations cannot be overstressed. Good glossy prints are required for all photographs. Authors are encouraged to submit color illustrations that highlight the text and convey essential scientific information. Authors are requested to pay the cost of reproducing color figures in print. A limited number of color figures that are of critical importance and significantly enhance the presentation will be considered for publication at the Publisher's expense subject to Editorial recommendation. Final decision on publication of color figures will be at the discretion of the Editors. All color figures will be reproduced in full color in the online edition of the journal at no cost to authors. For best reproduction, bright, clear colors should be used. Dark colors against a dark background do not reproduce well; please place your color images against a white background wherever possible.

    Tables
Number all tables with roman numerals and cite sequentially in the text. Each table with caption should be submitted as a separate DOC or RTF file.

Wiley's Journal Styles Are Now in EndNote
EndNote is a software product that we recommend to our journal authors to help simplify and streamline the research process. If you need assistance using EndNote, contact endnote@isiresearchsoft.com or visit www.endnote.com/support .

References should be cited sequentially in the paper, typed double-spaced and placed at the end of the paper before the figure captions. Journal title abbreviations must conform to the practices of Chemical Abstracts . Please note the style in the following sample references:

No article can be published unless accompanied by a signed publication agreement, which serves as a transfer of copyright from author to publisher. A Copyright Transfer Agreement may be obtained from the editor or the publisher. Only original papers will be accepted, and copyright in published papers will be vested in the publisher.
