About the journal
The Revista Mexicana de Astronomia y Astrofisica, founded in 1974, publishes original research papers in all branches of Astronomy, Astrophysics and closely related fields. Two numbers per year are issued and are distributed free of charge to all institutions engaged in the fields covered by the RevMexAA.
Until 1994 the RevMexAA also published, as special issues, the proceedings of astronomical meetings held in Mexico and other countries throughout the continent. In 1995 Revista Mexicana de Astronomia y Astrofisica (Serie de Conferencias) was founded, a series dedicated to publish the proceedings of astronomical meetings.
The RevMexAA (SC) will provide the editors of each conference templates in LaTeX, specially prepared for these events and all papers should be submitted in camera ready format. Details regarding publication will be provided by the editors of the proceedings. Costs of publication and mailing will be shared according to a mutual agreement between the RevMexAA (SC) and the organizing committee.
Authors of scientific papers and books may quote articles published both in RevMexAA and RevMexAA (SC) provided that a complete reference to the source is given. Reproduction of figures and tables is also permitted on the same basis.
The RevMexAA is indexed in Current Contents, Science Citation Index, Astronomy and Astrophysics Abstracts, Physics Briefs, Publicaciones Cient¨ªficas en Am¨¦rica Latina, Astronomy and Astrophysics Monthly Index, PERIODICA and RedALyC.

Instructions to Authors

Papers should be prepared in English, using the most recent version of the RevMexAA LaTeX document class "rmaa.cls" (available from http://www.astroscu.unam.mx/~rmaa). An "Abstract" of at most 12 lines is required, as well as a "Resumen" in Spanish. The latter can be provided by the Editors, when necessary. A total of six or fewer "Keywords" should be included, taken from the lists of international astronomical journals. Tables should be numbered and include a title. Figures should be submitted in PostScript (.ps) or Encapsulated PostScript (.eps) format, should be numbered, and should include a caption. Both tables and figures should be mentioned in the text. The style of the references follows recent international astronomical usage. For more information about the style norms of RevMexAA please consult the example included in the LaTeX package.
