About the journal
Human Studies is a quarterly journal, dedicated primarily to advancing the dialogue between philosophy and the human sciences. In particular, such issues as the logic of inquiry, methodology, epistemology and foundational issues in the human sciences exemplified by original empirical, theoretical and philosophical investigations are addressed. Phenomenological perspectives, broadly defined, are a primary, though not exclusive focus.
The journal is attractive to scholars in a variety of field seeking to provide a forum for those who address these issues in attempting to bridge the gap between philosophy and the human sciences.
Contributions from sociology, psychology, anthropology, history, geography, linguistics, semiotics, communication studies, ethnomethodology, political science, and, of course, philosophy, are especially welcome.
Human Studies is partially supported by the Department of Sociology, Boston University, Boston, Massachusetts and the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts, Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Illinois. It is the official journal of the Society for Phenomenology and the Human Sciences.
Abstracted/Indexed in: Academic Abstracts, African Urban & Regional Science Index, Current Contents / Social & Behavioral Sciences, Family & Society Studies Worldwide, International Bibliography of the Social Sciences, ISI Alerting Services, Linguistics Abstracts, MLA International Bibliography, SCOPUS, Social Science Citation Index (SSCI), Social SciSearch, Sociological Abstracts
