About the journal
Reviews in Mathematical Physics (RMP)
|
Reviews in Mathematical Physics fills the need for a review journal in the field, but also accepts original research papers of high quality. The review papers - introductory and survey papers - are of relevance not only to mathematical physicists, but also to mathematicians and theoretical physicists interested in interdisciplinary topics. Original research papers are not subject to page limitations provided they are of importance to this readership. |

Instructions to Authors
| For Authors: Guidelines for Contributors |
| Manuscripts may be submitted, in duplicate, to the Editor-in-Chief (see Editorial Board). Electronic submission of postscript or pdf files of articles by email is strongly encouraged. The submission of a paper implies that the paper is not being considered for publication by other journals. Once a paper is accepted for publication in Reviews in Mathematical Physics, the author is assumed to have transferred the copyright to World Scientific.
The manuscript, including the abstract, references, tables, figures, and figure captions, must be in English. It must be prepared well with double-spacing and ample margins all around the text. For electronic submission, all figures, tables, etc must be included in the postscript files of the articles. Only the complete files in readily printable form are acceptable.
Abstracts should not be more than 300 words long.
Sections should be numbered with arabic numerals. Each page of the manuscript should be numbered at the top.
Footnotes should be indicated in the text with superscript letters: a, b, c, etc.
References should be indicated with arabic numerals in square brackets, eg. [1], in the order of citation. References should be typed on separate sheets at the end of the manuscript, before the list of figure captions. For journal references, the standard abbreviations for journal names should be used. The following examples show the preferred format for references:
- H. Araki, Commun. Math. Phys. 44 (1975), 1.
- M. J. Donald, The uniqueness of states of minimum free energy (preprint).
- H. Kosaki, Variational expressions of relative entropy of states on W*-algebras in Proceedings of the 27th Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems, West Virginia University, 1984, pp. 669-671.
- S. Adler and R. Dashen, Current Algebras and Applications to Particle Physics, Benjamin, New York, 1968.
Figures should be numbered in arabic numerals in the order of appearance in the text. In manuscripts, each figure should occupy a separate page. Original indian-ink drawings or glossy prints are preferred. For ease of handling, original figures should not be larger than a manuscript page. They must be clear enough for reduction to a minimum of 50% of their original size. (Please note that the size of printed figures cannot exceed 5 ?.5 in.) The author's name and figure number should be clearly written below the figure. The list of figure captions should be typed on a separate sheet at the end of the manuscript.
Tables should be numbered with roman numerals in the order of appearance. In manuscripts each table should occupy a separate page. Every table must have a caption, which should be typed above the table.
Every submitted paper will be acknowledged and refereed. A rejected paper will not be returned to the author.
There is no page charge. The author will receive 50 reprints of his paper free of charge.
