About the journal

The Movimento Journal is a publication of the School of Physical Education of Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. It aims to publish scientific research related to Physical Education connected with the Humanities and Social Sciences in its educational, historical, political, and cultural aspects.

Peer Review Process

Evaluation: Articles sent to MOVIMENTO journal will be evaluated by two Editorial Board or Ad-hoc analyzers. The double blind system will be used for the task of issuing the following grades: approved for publication; approved with corrections; rejected for publication. If the article receives one approved for publication and one rejected for publication analysis, it will be forwarded to a third analyzer who will issue a definitive ruling. The article that receives one approved with corrections and one rejected for publication analysis will be rejected by the editors. The article that receives one approved with corrections and one approved for publication analysis, or, two approved with corrections analyses will be sent to the author so the changes requested by the analyzers can be made. Studies that are not accepted will not be returned and the author will be advised of the decision. Articles written by other specialists may be published so long as they are of interest to the Physical Education area and its interface with Social and Human Sciences. The editors do not assume responsibility for concepts issued in signed articles and transcribed material. The editors reserve the right to: select the articles of publication; listen to a specialist’s opinion to check study quality; carry out a grammatical review of the texts and make corrections so long as they do not alter the content.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration.


Instructions to Authors

Norms for Publication

The Movimento journal is a Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul School of Physical Education publication. Its objective is to disclose studies on Physical Education and its interface with Social and Human Sciences in their didactic, pedagogical, scientific and philosophic aspects. Accept only original articles. It is comprised of the following sections: ORIGINAL ARTICLES: These are studies that result from scientific research presenting original data on findings in relation to experimental or observational aspects of a philosophic, social cultural and pedagogical nature and include descriptive analyses and/or inferences of their own data. It makes use of a conventional structure with the following items: Introduction, Methodological Decisions, Analysis and Discussion. ESSAYS: Revision or reflection on a specific theme, pointing to possible conclusions and/or new interpretations. SUMMARIES: summaries of recently released books that deal with the magazine's editorial policy. Structure of studies: The articles shall be typed in Times New Roman 12, with 1.5 spacing, and not exceed 5.000 words. They shall have: - title that identifies the content in Portuguese, English and Spanish; - complete name of author(s), followed by titles, location of activities, e-mail and mailing address and indication of financing related to the study to be published; - Informative summary in Portuguese, English and Spanish with up to 100 dollars each; - Key words comprised of up to four terms that identify the subject of the article in Portuguese, English and Spanish, separated by periods. Suggestion: use Describers in Health Science (DeHS). Available at: - Only use italics for foreign words. Post-Textual Elements: References: documents cited in the text according to NBR 6023. - The list of references must be in alphabetical order, aligned to the left and placed at the end of the article, citing the sources used. It makes use of a conventional structure with the following items: Introduction, Methodological Decisions, Analysis and Discussion. b) Revision Articles: The objective of these studies is to summarize, analyze, evaluate or synthesize research studies already published in scientific magazines. They present synthesis and critical analysis of the literature and should not be confused with update articles. c) Case Report: These articles represent descriptive and/or interpretive data from one or more cases, exploring a problem or object of study using an example.It presents the characteristics of the studied object. - Sending: The articles shall be sent in digital format to this page: www.ufrgs.br/revistamovimento. Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
