Editorial Procedures
The journal accepts original articles accompanied by a letter signed by all authors identifying the type of article (Original / Review / Essay / Communication / Translation). The letter should also state that the manuscript is only being submitted to the journal Transinformação and transfer the copyrights to the journal.
The letter should contain the name, address, telephone numbers and e-mails of the authors and indicate the address for correspondence.
Studies with human beings must include a copy of the Research Ethics Committee’s approval. Additionally, the last paragraph of the Methods section should contain the approval protocol number and date. If this is not possible, include in the Methods section the ethical procedures used in the study.
If the manuscript contains figures or tables published elsewhere, the authors must include a document authorizing their use.
The authors may, instead, indicate three referees to assess their manuscript.
Reformulated version
The author is requested to send only the last reformulated version of the manuscript to the site <http://www.puc-campinas.edu.br/periodicocientifico>. Underline the changes made to the manuscript and a letter should be attached reiterating the author’ interest in publishing in this Journal, indicating what changes were made to the manuscript. If the referees disagree, the author is asked to offer arguments that justify their position. If the author do not send the revised manuscript and the letter within the deadline, the editorial process will be terminated, regardless of the phase it is in.
Proofs: proofs will be sent to the authors for the correction of printing mistakes. Proofs must be returned to the Editorial Center by the stipulated deadline. Other changes to the manuscript will not be accepted during this phase.
The manuscripts should contain
Title page (only part of the text identifying the authors)
a) Full title - should be concise avoiding excess words, such as "assessment of...", "considerations about...", "exploratory study…".
b) Short title with at most forty characters (including spaces) in Portuguese or Spanish, and English or French.
c) Full name of all authors indicating the institutional affiliation of each one. Only one title and affiliation will be accepted per author. The authors must, therefore, choose among their titles and institutional affiliations.
Observation: if there is no institutional bond, please inform professional activity, city and state.
d) All title and affiliation data should be written in full, no abbreviations are accepted.
e) Include full addresses of all universities the authors have ties with.
f) Include full address of the corresponding author when there is more than one for correspondence regarding the manuscript, including fax and telephone numbers and e-mail(s).
Another observation
Abstract: all articles submitted in Portuguese, Spanish or French should have an abstract in the original language and one in English. The abstracts should have at least 150 words and at most 250 words.
The articles submitted in English should contain an abstract, title and keywords in Portuguese and in English.
The abstract should contain the objective of the study, the methodological procedures, the results in certain cases and the conclusions.
The text should not contain citations and acronyms. Provide from 3 to 6 keywords using Information Sciences descriptors – Docutes - <http://eprints.rclis.org/bitstream/10760/5875/1/TESAURO_DOCUTES.pdf>.
Text: except for Reviews, Essays and Communications, all manuscripts must follow the formal structure for scientific studies:
Introduction: should contain a review of the current literature pertinent to the theme and appropriate to the presentation of the problem, emphasizing its relevance. It should not be extensive except for Reviews.
Methods: should contain a clear and compact description of the method used, including the study techniques and procedures, and, if applicable, the statistical treatment.
Regarding the statistical analysis, the authors should demonstrate that the procedures used were appropriate, contributing to the interpretation of the results.
Results: whenever possible, they should be presented in tables or figures, be self-explanatory and contain statistical analyses. Please avoid repeating data in the text.
Tables, charts and figures should have a brief title, total no more than five, and be numbered with Arabic numbers consecutively and independently according to the order in which they were mentioned in the text. They should be submitted in separate and individual sheets and the manuscript should indicate their location in the text. The location and year of the study must be included in their titles. Charts and tables should have open sides.
The author is responsible for figure quality (drawings, illustrations, tables, charts and graphs). Their sizes should occupy one or two columns (7 or 15cm wide, respectively). The landscape format is not accepted. Digital figures should be in jpeg format and have a minimum resolution of 400 dpi.
Graphs and drawings should be created in vector design software (Microsoft Excel, CorelDraw X5, Adobe Photoshop CS6, SPSS v.10.0), followed by their quantitative parameters in tables with the name of all variables.
The publication of color images after assessment of technical viability will be paid by the author. If the author request, the journal Transinformação will provide a quote which may vary according to the number of images, image location (different pages), and the concomitant publication of color images by other author(s).
Discussion: should discuss the results in an appropriate and objective manner and compare them with other literature data.
Conclusion: present the relevant conclusions considering the objectives of the work and make suggestions for further investigations. Bibliographical citations will not be accepted in this section.
Acronyms: should be standardized and restricted to those used conventionally or sanctioned by use, followed by the full meaning the first time they appear in the text. They should not be used in the title and abstract.
Acknowledgments: may be done in a paragraph no longer than three lines and be directed to institutions or individuals who effectively collaborated with the study.
Attachments: should be included only when critical for the understanding of the text. The editors will decide if they should be published.

Bibliographical citations in the text should be included in the list of references.
Citations/references to undergraduate monographs and unpublished texts (classes, among others) will not be accepted.
If the unpublished work of one of the authors of the manuscript is cited (that is, an in-press article), the author must include the letter from the journal accepting to publish the article.
If unpublished data obtained by other researchers are cited, please include a letter authorizing its use.
Specific cases
1) Literal citations of up to three lines: in quotes, not in italic, followed by, (Name of author, date, page, no space between period and number) in parentheses. The period should be placed after the closing parenthesis.
2) Literal citations with more than three lines must be in a separate paragraph, with a left margin of 4cm, using single space between the lines, smaller font than that of the text, without quotes, without italic, ending on the right margin of the text, followed by, in parenthesis, the last name of the author, date and page.
3) Many authors cited in sequence: use the chronological order in which the documents were published separated by a semicolon: (Crespo, 2005; Costa; Ramalho, 2008; Moresi et al., 2010).
4) Texts with two authors: Crippa and Bisoffi (2010) (in the body of the text); (Crippa; Bisoffi, 2010) (within parentheses).
5) Texts with three or more authors: (Griselda et al., 2009) (within parentheses) and Griselda et al. (2009) (outside parentheses).
6) Citations of the same author published in the same year: add a lower-case letter after the date without spacing. Example: (Morin, 2000a, 2000b).
References
References are based on NBR-6023/2002. The references should be limited to 30 for articles but Reviews may have as many as 50. They should be ordered alphabetically according to the last name of the first author.
Specific cases
1) Journal titles should be written in full.
2) References with coinciding authors and dates should be ordered according to the title of the work and a lower-case letter is added after the date, without spacing.
3) In references with three or more authors, only the first author should be indicated followed by the expression et al.
The author(s) are responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of the references to studies that have been consulted and mentioned in the body of the manuscript.
