Instructions to Authors

Aim and editorial policy

Revista Brasileira de Farmacognosia (Brazilian Journal of Pharmacognosy) is a periodical dedicated to the publication of original scientific work, reviews and divulgation in the field of Pharmacognosy ("The study of biologically active natural products").

Original Articles (in Portuguese, English or Spanish): it refers to unpublished research works. They must follow the usual presentation form, containing Introduction, Material and Methods, Results and Discussion, etc, according to the peculiarities of each work.

Review Articles (in Portuguese, English or Spanish): they are directed to the presentation of the progress in a specific area of Pharmacognosy, containing a critical view, with the main objective of benefiting the group formed by post graduating students and non-specialists in the area. The RBFAR Editors can, fortuitously, invite qualified researchers to submit review article. It is desirable that the author has publications in the refereed area.

Divulgation Articles (in Portuguese, English or Spanish): presentation of some aspect or area of Pharmacognosy, written down in a didactic way, with the objective of benefiting the group formed by graduating and post graduating students, non-specialists in the area, pharmacists and professors of alike areas.
