About the journal
The Journal of Foraminiferal Research is the official publication of the Cushman Foundation for Foraminiferal Research. It continues the Contributions from the Cushman Laboratory for Foraminiferal Research, which were published from 1925 until 1950, and Contributions from the Cushman Foundation for Foraminiferal Research, which were published continuously from 1950 until 1970. JFR publishes original papers of international interest dealing with the Foraminiferida and allied groups of organisms. Review articles are encouraged.
Instructions to Authors
The Journal of Foraminiferal Research invites scholarly contributions dealing with all aspects of the foraminifera. It also welcomes those manuscripts which may only secondarily involve foraminifera as part of stratigraphic or ecologic studies with allied organisms. All papers will be refereed, but acceptance is the responsibility of the Editor. Accepted manuscripts that conform closely to the instructions on the following pages will be given priority.
Authors are requested to submit three copies of carefully checked typescript, complete with duplicates of all tables and illustrations. The entire manuscript, including references, appendices, tables, figure legends and plate descriptions must be typewritten and double-spaced with wide margins on all sides. It should be prepared on one side only of standard weight paper, 8.5 x 11 inches (21.6 x 27.9 cm) in size. Each page should be numbered in the upper right corner. It is expected that papers will be well organized and the results presented clearly and succinctly. American spelling and usage according to Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary are followed by the Journal and the Allen Press. Authors whose first language is not English are encouraged to have their manuscripts read by a native English-speaking colleague before submission. When in doubt about format and usage, authors should refer to a recent Journal issue.
