Multidisciplinary View
Latin American Perspectives offers a vital multidisciplinary view of the powerful forces shaping the Americas, such as:
Economics - and the study of the moral, political and social desirability of economic policies
Political Science - and the patterns of social action that underlie the operation of nations, the competition for power, the conduct and misconduct of governments
International Relations - particularly as they affect the nationalist movements and internal problems of Latin American countries
Philosophy - theoretical and applied to the hard realities of developing nations
History - a critical view, with frequent inside views of history in the making
Sociology, Geography, Anthropology, Literature - the personal poetic comments of activists and revolutionary scholars

Instructions to Authors
Manuscript Submission Guidelines:

MANUSCRIPT REVIEW PROCESS: The editorial board comprises Participating Editors, Honorary Editors, Associate Editors, and Coordinating Editors who read and evaluate manuscripts. Any one or more of these editors may be responsible for organizing a special issue. Manuscripts are normally evaluated by two Participating Editors (at least one Latin American) and two members of the Editorial Collective. The Editorial Collective consists of the Coordinating Editors, who make decisions and who are assisted by the Associate Editors and by Interns. The Collective decides if the manuscript is to be accepted in its present form, returned to the author for revision, deferred for resubmission, or rejected. In all decisions, the reviewers'signed comments will be sent to the author. Either a Coordinating Editor or an Issue Editor will serve as liaison between the author and other editors. For authors who so wish, the liaison will provide editorial assistance or settle any substantial disagreement among reviewers. An author who feels that important views have been rejected may appeal; this will be reviewed by all Coordinating Editors. Manuscripts submitted should be no longer than 25 pages, double-spaced, in English, Spanish, Portuguese, or French. Submit two hard copies and a disk containing the manuscript (in Microsoft Word document format) along with an abstract of 150 words (including emphasis on the manuscript's theoretical contribution), 5 keywords, and current biographical information (a maximum of 25 words). Please conform to journal style as dictated by our style sheet that can be obtained on request from the Publisher, the Managing Editor at laps@ucr.edu, or the website at http://www.latinamericanperspectives.com. A copy of the final revised manuscript saved on a CD-R or floppy disk should be included along with the final revised hard copy. Submission of a manuscript implies commitment to publish in the journal. Authors submitting manuscripts to the journal should not simultaneously submit them to another journal. Manuscripts and questions about the editorial process should be sent to the Managing Editor, Latin American Perspectives, P.O. Box 5703, Riverside, CA 92517-5703. For information on upcoming publications and submission guidelines, please visit LAP on the website at http://www.latinamericanperspectives.com. The editorial office can be reached by e-mail: laps@ucr.edu.
