About the journal
Review of Research in Education (RRE) is a periodical volume that provides an overview and analysis of selected areas of relevant research through critical and synthesizing essays. The editor of RRE, in close consultation with its editorial board, plays a critical role in reviewing and defining the current state of knowledge in the field. Each volume is designed around a particular subject.

Instructions to Authors
The process for submissions differs for the Section on Social and Institutional Analysis (SIA) and the Section on Teaching, Learning, and Human Development (TLHD).
Section on Social and Institutional Analysis (SIA) The Section on Social and Institutional Analysis (SIA) publishes scholarly research that addresses significant political, cultural, social, economic, and organizational issues in education. It welcomes analyses of the broad contextual and organizational factors affecting teaching and learning, the links between those factors and the nature and processes of schooling, and the ways that such "external" domains are conceptualized in research, policy, and practice. The editors invite articles that advance the theoretical understandings of the social and institutional contexts of education and encompass the diverse communities of schooling and educational research. They welcome research across a wide range of methodological paradigms, including ethnographic, historical, narrative, legal, experimental/quantitative, critical, and interpretive approaches; they also invite studies that make the nature and uses of educational research itself a subject of social and cultural inquiry.
SUBMISSIONS UPDATE AERJ/SIA is pleased to announce that beginning May 31, 2007, new manuscripts should be submitted electronically to Co-Editors Margaret A. Gallego (San Diego State University) and Sandra Hollingsworth (University of California - Berkeley) at: http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/aera-sia.
Over the course of the next few months, OJS will be phased out and all manuscripts submitted to AERJ/SIA will be managed through ScholarOne's Manuscript Central system. If you currently have a manuscript under review in OJS, you may continue to monitor its progress in OJS until a decision is reached. Any revised manuscript should be submitted to the new site at: http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/aera-sia.
For specific questions or inquiries, send e-mail to the Editorial Assistant, Christine Kane at aerj.sia@mail.sdsu.edu, (619) 594-6436 or (619) 594-6438 (fax).
Section on Teaching, Learning, and Human Development (TLHD) The Section on Teaching, Learning, and Human Development (TLHD) publishes research articles that explore the processes and outcomes of teaching, learning, and human development at all educational levels and in both formal and informal settings. This section also welcomes policy research related to teaching, learning, and learning to teach. It publishes articles that represent a wide range of academic disciplines and use a variety of research methods. For specific questions or inquiries, send e-mail to AERJ-TLHDeditors@aera.net.
