About the journal
The purpose of the Journal of Psychology and Theology is to communicate recent scholarly thinking on the interrelationships of psychological and theological concepts, and to consider the application of these concepts to a variety of professional settings. The major intent of the editor is to place before the evangelical community articles that have bearing on the nature of humankind from a biblical perspective.

Instructions to Authors
All articles should be consistent with an evangelical position. Material in the following categories will be considered for publication. 1. Theoretical or applied articles dealing with the integration of psychology and theology. 2. Research articles that have relevance to theology, the psychology of religion, the ministry of the church or the integration of psychology and theology. 3. Articles dealing with pastoral counseling or the theory and application of psychological data to the work of the church. 4. Theoretical, applied, or research articles bearing on the relationship of psychology to the intercultural context of Christian world mission(s). 5. Theoretical, research, and applied articles dealing with the family and relationships within the Christian community. 6. Reviews of articles in other journals relevant to the integration of psychology and theology. 7. Reactions to current or past journal articles. 8. Reviews of relevant books from the field of psychology and theology. AUTHORS SUBMITTING A MANUSCRIPT SHOULD: 1. Send four typewritten, double-spaced hard copies of the manuscript to Todd W. Hall, PhD,Editor, Journal of Psychology and Theology, Rosemead School of Psychology, 13800 Biola Avenue, La Mirada, California 90639-0001. A standard font such as Times New Roman 12 should be used. Three of the four copies should delete the author's name on the title page, etc., for purposes of blind review. If accepted, the author will be required to submit a computerized copy in Microsoft Word, which can be mailed on a floppy disk to the above address, or sent as an e-mail attachment to journal.manager@truth.biola.edu 2. Follow the guidelines on format, style, and submission procedure provided in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (4th ed.) (1200 17th Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20036) including the use of non-sexist language. 3. Avoid submitting a manuscript which has been published previously or is being considered simultaneously for publication in other journals. If the manuscript is rejected by the Journal, it may then be submitted to another journal. 4. Include an abstract of no more than 150 words. (If typewritten, please include on a separate sheet of paper.) 5. Limit the manuscript to 20 double-spaced pages, excluding tables, figures, and references. 6. Include the following current vita information for each author: address, title, degree(s) and institution(s) where earned, and specialization(s). 7. Include telephone number, fax number, and electronic mail address if available. All submitted manuscripts will be acknowledged promptly and processed as quickly as possible. The initial review process generally requires a minimum of three months. The time span between initial submission and appearance in print of accepted manuscripts is approximately six months, or as forthcoming article backlog allows.
