About the journal

Psychology

Psihologija is a scholarly peer-reviewed journal published quarterly by the Serbian Psychological Society. The journal was founded in 1967. From 1980 on, all the articles contain abstracts in English and Serbian. Now, Psihologija generally follows the rules of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association.

Psihologija accepts only original manuscripts written either in Serbian, or in other so called world languages, preferably in English. Papers may belong to any branch of research psychology. Occasionally, Psihologija publishes thematic issues edited by field specialist as guest editors.

Psihologija is indexed in the SocioFakt - Serbian Social Science Citation Index from 1991 on, and in SocioFakt online from 2000 on. As evidenced from SocioFakt, Psihologija is traditionally the most cited psychological journal in Yugoslavia, now in Serbia, and one of the social science journals having the highest national impact factor.

Publication of the Psihologija is financially supported by the Ministry of Science of Serbia.

The manuscripts are exclusively sent by e-mail to the address:

A paper must be written in text processor Microsoft Word, using font Times New Roman (size 12), in Latin alphabet, 1.5 line spacing. Paper needs to have the length of up to one authorial signature (around 30,000 characters). The exception from this are reviews which may be up to 50,000 characters long. A paper needs to be proof read.

Paper title. Title should be as concise as possible. Title, author's name, and institution he/she works at, needs to be written correctly as they would be printed. Behand the name of the first author, a footnote should be inserted containing e-mail address of (one of) authors.

Summary. Summary, with the length of 50-150 words, should be at the beginning of paper. At the end of the summary, some key words should be included (up to five key words). It is necessary to submit the whole summary in the English language, too. If a paper is in the English language, it is desirable to submit longer summary (up to 2 pages) in the Serbian language.

Quotations. Any quotation, regardless of its length, needs to be followed by reference including page number. For any quotation longer than 350 characters, an author must have written approval by copy rights owner that needs to be enclosed.

Tables, charts, and pictures. Tables and charts need to be made in Word or some other Word compatible format. Same data may not be presented both in tables and charts. Every table, chart, or picture should be marked with number, adequate name, e.g. Table 2: The Reliability of the Variables of the Concept of Oneself. Pictures need to be sent in electronic form with the resolution of at least 300 dpi. If illustration from printing source is used, written authorisation by copy rights owner is necessary, which needs to be provided.

If one author is referenced several time, he/she is referenced in sequence order (year) of reference publishing, i.e. (if he/she has co-authors), according to the surname of the first author. If several papers by the same authors in the same year are referenced, years should be marked with letters a, b, c, e.g. (1995a), (1995b). The reference of unpublished papers (i.e. the summary from scientific meeting, manuscript, etc.) is not desirable.
