About the journal
PHILOSOPHY & PUBLIC AFFAIRS contains philosophical discussions of substantive legal, social, and political problems, as well as discussions of the more abstract questions to which these discussions give rise. The journal is designed to fill the need for a periodical in which philosophers with different viewpoints and philosophically inclined writers from various disciplines can bring their distinctive methods to bear on problems of concern to everyone.
Instructions to Authors
Manuscripts should be double-spaced throughout, with notes gathered at the end in the format found in any recent issue. To facilitate blind review, please remove author-identifying information from the text and notes and provide it on a separate page (for electronic submissions, in a separate file). Indicate word count including notes. Send 3 printed copies to Philosophy & Public Affairs, 130 Corwin Hall, Princeton University, Princeton, NJ 08540.
Manuscripts may be sent by email attachment (in Microsoft Word or Rich Text Format to the journal email address listed below provided that one printed copy is sent by mail. The editors will not consider any work that is under simultaneous consideration for publication elsewhere or that has been, or soon will be, published elsewhere in any form, except for papers published or posted electronically mainly for local circulation (as in a workshop series), on an author's personal Website, or as a working paper.
