About the journal
JOURNAL OF HYDROLOGY AND HYDROMECHANICS is an international journal for the basic disciplines of water sciences. The scope of the journal is hydrology and hydromechanics in its widest sense, including hydrodynamics of porous media and non-Newtonian fluids. It presents original scientific papers, short communications, reviews and information.

All contributions will be carefully refereed.
Languages The languages of the journal are English, Czech and Slovak.
Manuscripts Manuscripts should begin with a concise but informative title followed by the name (s) of the author (s). Abstract not exceeding 200 words should be followed by key words. Articles should not exceed 15 printed pages. The articles should be typewritten with double spacing, they should include summary and the list of symbols on a separate sheet. They should be sent also in an electronic form. The full address of the institution which the author is associated with should be located below the name of the author(s). The manuscripts including tables and figures are requested in duplicate.
In case that the author is neither Czech nor Slovak, the article must contain an extended abstract in English which will be translated in the Editorial Office.
References References in the text should be cited with the name of the author (s), followed by the year of publication The reference list should be in alphabetical order on a separate sheet, e.g.:
COLLATZ L., 1960: The Numerical Treatment of Differential Equations. Springer Verlag, Berlin.
SROKA Z., WOSIEWICZ B., 1994: An iterative coupling of numerical groundwater flow models. J. Hydrol. Hydromech., 42, 1, 25�7.
Illustrations Illustrations of maximum dimensions A4 (297 x 210 mm) should be numbered and referred to in the text. Drawings should be completely lettered, the size of the lettering should be appropriate, taking into account the possible need for reduction in size.
Figures, as well as figure captions should be supplied on a separate sheet.
Tables Tables should be compiled on separate sheets. A title should be provided for each table and all tables should be referred to in the text. Tables should have legends which make their general meaning comprehensible without reference to the text.
Proofs Proofs will be sent to the first author for proof reading. They should be returned with the least delay and only with small and essential changes in the text.
Reprints One copy of the journal and PDF version of the paper will be sent to the first author free of charge. To Czech and Slovak authors a PDF version of the paper only will be supplied.
Units All units should be given in accordance with the SI system

Journal of Hydrology and Hydromechanics was established in 1953 at the Institute of Hydrology and Hydromechanics, Slovak Academy of Sciences, in Bratislava, Slovakia. The Journal is published (since 1953) jointly by the Institute of Hydrology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Hydrodynamics of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, v. v. i. Volumes 1â€?0 of this journal were issued under the title Vodohospodársky Äasopis.
