About the journal
Transfusion is the foremost publication in the world for new information regarding transfusion medicine. Written by and for members of the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) and other health-care workers, Transfusion reports on the latest technical advances, discusses opposing viewpoints regarding controversial issues, and presents key conference proceedings. In addition to blood banking and transfusion medicine topics, Transfusion also presents submissions concerning tissue transplantation and hematopoietic, cellular, and gene therapies.
As of March 2003, Transfusion will be edited by Paul M. Ness, MD. Dr. Ness has been a member of the Transfusion editorial board since 1989 and is currently the director of transfusion medicine and a professor of pathology, medicine and oncology at The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. He has served extensively on AABB committees since 1981, and served as president of the association from 1999 to 2000.
