Instructions to Authors
Hints for preparing manuscripts and files for Studia Mathematica:
Check the following points before sending the final version of your paper for Studia Mathematica:
Does your paper have an abstract (not more than 200 words)?
Is the 1991 Mathematics Subject Classification given?
Are the complete postal and e-mail addresses of all authors given?
Are the references listed in alphabetical order?
Is the bibliographical information about each reference item complete?
Are all the reference items cited in the text?
If there are figures in your paper, are they less than 12 cm wide? Are they suitable for direct reproduction?
Prepare your final hard copy using 12-point type, text width 13.5 cm and double spacing. Do not use smaller type for the list of references.
If you are using Plain TeX or AmSTeX, write:
\magnification=\magstep1 \hsize=30truecc \baselineskip=16truept
If you are using LaTeX, write:
\documentstyle[12pt,leqno]{article} \textwidth=30cc \baselineskip=16pt
Print the paper on one side only.
If your paper is accepted for publication, you will be asked to send the TeX (not DVI) file(s) on a diskette or by e-mail. Note that the file(s) must exactly match the hard copy sent to the Editorial Committee. If you have made any corrections in the file(s), send also two new hard copies to the Editorial Committee. If you use any nonstandard "styles" or inputs in your file, attach them as separate files.
If you have electronic versions of your figures, send them too. EPS and/or CorelDraw (CDR) files will be most helpful; PCX, TIF, GIF, JPG, WMF, WPG or Mathematica files are also useful.
Note that if your paper is prepared using a system other than TeX, the publication of the paper will be delayed considerably. You will be asked to send the file(s) in your original format, together with the ASCII ("text only", "export ASCII") file(s).
To submit a paper to Studia Mathematica, send two hard copies to
Studia Mathematica P.O. Box 137 Sniadeckich 8 00-950 Warszawa Poland
or by fax to 48-22-6293997.
On acceptance of the paper, you will be asked to send a diskette (preferably MS-DOS) to the above address, or to transmit the file(s) by e-mail to
studia@impan.gov.pl
Manuscripts should be typed on one side only, with double or triple spacing and wide margins, and submitted in duplicate, including the original typewritten copy.
An abstract of not more than 200 words and the AMS Mathematics Subject Classification are required.
Figures must be prepared in a form suitable for direct reproduction. Sending EPS, PCX, TIF or CorelDraw files will be most helpful. The author should indicate on the margin of the manuscript where figures are to be inserted.
Reference should be arranged in alphabetical order, typed with double spacing, and styled and punctuated according to the examples given below. Abbreviations of journal names should follow Mathematical Reviews. Titles of papers in Russian should be translated into English.

Authors' affiliation should be given at the end of the manuscript.
Authors receive only page proofs (one copy). If the proofs are not returned promptly, the article will be printed in a later issue.
Authors receive 50 reprintsof their articles. Additional reprints can be ordered.
The publisher strongly encourages submission of manuscripts written in TeX. On acceptance of the paper, authors will be asked to transmit the file by electronic mail to: studia@impan.gov.pl
Recommended format of manuscripts: 12-point type (including references), text width 13.5 cm.
