About the journal

 

Studia geophysica et geodaetica is an international journal covering all aspects of geophysics, meteorology and climatology, and of geodesy. Published by the Geophysical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, it has a long tradition, being published quarterly since 1956. Studia publishes theoretical and methodological contributions, which are of interest for academia as well as industry. The journal offers fast publication of contributions in regular as well as topical issues.

 

 

  

                                                              


Instructions to Authors

  

Authors are encouraged to submit original manuscripts, in triplicate (if sent in printed form), to the Editorial Office. Optionally, manuscripts can be submitted to a corresponding editor. The manuscripts should only be written in English. The manuscripts should be double-spaced, with wide margins. Figures, tables, list of refernces and figure captions should be on separate pages. Each page should be numbered. The metric system should be used throughout the text.

The title page should include the title, names of the authors and their affiliations, including their e-mail address.

The abstract of not more than 400 words should be placed at the beginning of the paper. It should clearly summarize the contents of the paper.

Tables should be submitted on separate sheets. They should be referred to in the text, numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals and provided with an appropriate caption.

Figures should be on separate pages, in a form ready for reproduction (high quality). The lettering should be sufficiently large to allow necessary reduction in size. All figures should be referred to in the text and numbered successively as they appear in the text. Figure captions should be typed on a separate page. Colour pictures can be published; the authors will be charged for them as follows:
   US$ 350 per page in case of 1-2 pages;
   In case of 3 and more pages, the charge is US$ 700 for the first two pages plus US$ 150 for each next page.

References in the text should include the name(s) of the author(s) without initials, followed by the publication year in parentheses. The whole reference should be in italics. If there are more than two authors, only the first author's name should be given in the reference, followed by "et al.".
Reference examples:
" ... as shown by Mothersill (1991) ..."
"... discussed in Pasquale et al. (1995) and Koch and Cox (1996) ..."
"... as proved earlier (Vajda, 1994; Hume and Doyle, 1992,1993)."

The list of references should contain the names of all authors. The list of references should be in alphabetical order, starting on a new page.
