Dear author,
In order to simplify the procedure of interaction between an author (coauthors) and the publisher we ask you to send agreements on transfer of copyright (in Russian or in English) simultaneously with the manuscript of the article to the editorial board of the journal. The agreement should be sent in duplicate.
This agreement is a contract of adhesion.
We draw your attention to the fact that the agreement enters into force under the condition of acceptance of an article for publication in English. If for any reason your article is refused by the editorial board of the journal, the agreement automatically loses force. The decision on acceptance of an article for publication is the exclusive right of the editorial board of the journal. Signing of the agreement by an author (coauthors) means that the author (coauthors) has acquainted himself (themselves) and agrees (agree) with the conditions of the agreement.
A copyright transfer agreement form can be downloaded at our site:

The journal Solar Systems Research (Astronomicheskii Vestnik) publishes papers on the results of space and ground-based observations and theoretical research on the bodies of the solar system (planets and their satellites, comets, asteroids, meteoroids, meteoric matter), including their physical natures, motion, internal structure, and chemical composition. It publishes works on problems in studying surfaces, atmospheres of planets and near-planetary space, planetary geology and aeronomy, comparative planet science, and space chemistry and cosmogony, including problems of the origin, evolution, and dynamics of solar system bodies, the formation of protoplanetary accretion discs, and the formation of extrasolar planets and their properties. The journal reflects the results of studies of the Earth as a planet and problems in studying the interplanetary medium, including the structure and dynamics of the heliosphere and interaction of planets and small bodies with the solar plasma. It publishes reviews on journal topics, papers on certain theoretical problems related to developing models, separate problems of measurement methods and technology, and brief reports, including on the results of scientific conferences, reviews of monographs, and chronicles.
1. All papers sent to Solar System Research should be accompanied by a letter from the scientific organization.
2. All papers are usually reviewed by no less than two reviewers, who are well-known specialists in the particular field of knowledge. According to international practice, reviewing must be performed anonymously. Authors are recommended to be very attentive towards the remarks and wishes of reviewers.
In submitting a manuscript to the editorial board, the authors transfer the copyright for publishing it in Russian and English to the founders, editorial board, and publishers of the journal (Academic Publishing Center Nauka and MAIK Nauka/Interperiodika), retaining the rights for ownership of this paper for themselves.
In this connection, the authors are asked to append the following to the manuscript:
—two copies of the contract on transfer of copyright for use of materials in English (the form can be downloaded from the site www.maik.ru and requested from the editorial board);
—two copies of the contract on transer of copyright to publish a Russian version (the form can be downloaded from the site www.maik.ru and requested from the editorial board).
The electronic version of the paper must include the following: the file containing the textual part and tabulated material and files containing illustrations. If the text of the paper together with illustrations is one file, it is necessary to additionally submit files with illustrations. The set of files must contain a separate inventory file that must indicate the following: the name of the journal, title of the paper, surname and initials of the author(s), and the list of files.
Files can be delivered both on portable media and by e-mail. To avoid technical gltiches, it is recommended to test the recorded media and check for viruses. Large files should be archived by commonly used archive programs.
GRAPHICS MATERIAL
Black-and-white illustrations made on a computer are accepted in electroic form.
In preparing graphics files, we ask you to follow to these recommendations:
—vector figures, diagrams, and schemes should be submitted in native format of the program in which they were made or in EPS format;
—for the remaining illustrations, TIFF, JPEG, GIF formats are desirable, and the optimal resolution is 300 dpi.
—photographs should be submitted in two variants. The first variant must correspond to the hard copy original with all inscriptions and designations; the second copy must be clean (without text, designations, etc.). The desirable file formats are TIFF, JPEG, GIF; the optimal resolution is 300 dpi. The shade of gray on a photograph can be from 9 to 93%.
If you have no opportunity to prepare graphics information under these recommendations, we are ready to accept scanned images saved in TIFF, JPEG, and GIF formats with at 650 dpi.
Graphics files should be named such that it is clear what paper they belong to and what order in the paper. Each file should contain only one figure. We do not recommend importing or saving illustrations in *.doc format. Nevertheless, if this is necessary, all illustrations in this format must be collected into a single file.
RECOMMENDATIONS ON A TEXT EDITOR AND ITS USE
1. Use the publishing house’s style file, which will help you prepare your paper for submission to the editorial board.
2. Use the *.doc, RTF, or TeX formats for the electronic file of the paper. Do not use foreign letters, spaces, or symbols in the file name (with the exception of “_”).
3. The file of the paper should be completely identical to the hard copy submitted to the editorial board and should contain the corrections made by the editorial board. Corrections, supplements, etc., made without tapproval of the editorial board will not be taken into account. Moreover, such electronic versions cannot be used.
4. The file with the textual part of the paper must include the heading, abstract, structured text of the paper, list of references, a separate sheet with figure captions, and tables, each given on a separate sheet. Structural chemical formulas and schemes are arranged according to their place in the text of the paper.
The following rules must be followed in the text of the paper:
—Names of asteroids, comets, meteoric flows, as well as formations on the surfaces of planets and their satellites must presented in the original spelling.
—Names of space vehicles are given in English; moreover, if an abbreviation is used, a complete name must be given in brackets on first mention.
5. Try not to use macros.
6. When typing, use standard Windows TrueType fonts (Times New Roman for text; Symbol forGreek letters; MathematicalPi2 for handwritten and gothic symbols). The standard point size is 12.
7. Use no typing languages other than English.
8. Do not place more than one space while typing; use paragraphs and tabulation.
9. Do not end a line by pressing the Enter key: use it only to begin a new paragraph.
10. Use the text editor’s capabilities: automatic footnoting, creation of lists, automatic indention, etc.
11. Create tables using the functions of the text editor (Table—Add a Table) or MS Excel. Tables typed manually (with a large number of spaces and without cells) cannot be used.
TYPESETTING RECOMMENDATIONS
1. Type only using Latin letters.
2. Do not ALL CAP the text of a title.
3. Decimal digits use a period, not a comma (0.25 instead of 0,25).
4. Use only “quotation marks,” not «quotation marks».
5. The marks *, ‘, ±, solitary letters of the Greek alphabet, solitary italicized, or semibold letters, solitary variables, or designations that have only a superscript or only a subscript, units, numbers in the text, as well as simple mathematical and chemical formulas (for example, a2 + b2 = c2, H2SO4) must be typed in the text mode without using introduced frames (without using the Equation or MathType programs, etc.).
6. There should always be a space between initials and a surname: A.A. Ivanov (with the exception of enumeration of the authors in the title of the paper, where spaces are also put between initials: A. A. Ivanov).
7. In the entire text, except for a publication date, all dates in the form “date.month.year” are typed as follows: 02.05.1991, 26.12.1874, and so on.
8. A period should not placed after the following: title of paper, authors, titles and subtitles, names of tables, dimensions (s—second, g—gram, min— minute, days—days, deg—degree).
9. A full stop should come after the following: footnotes (including those in tables), table notes, figure captions, brief annotations (mon.—month, y.—year; mln—million; m. t.—melting temperature) but is not put in subscripts (Tm—melting temperature, Tp.t.— phase transition temperature).
10. Text symbols should done in the text editor using the TYPE dialogue box (it is called up by CTRL-D). ° is typed by the ALT0176 combination, and ± is typed by the ALT0177 combination.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR TYPING FORMULAS
1. Free-standing mathematical formulas (done on a separate line) must be typed in the MathType frame as a whole. It is not permitted to type formulas from constituent elements (a part of a formula is a table, a part is a text, and a part is an introduced frame).
2. The settings of types, size of symbols, and their placement used for formulas typed in MathType must be general. Their forced manual change for separate symbols and elements of formulas is not permitted!
ABRIDGMENTS AND ABBREVIATIONS
1. Abridgements made of several words are separated with spaces (m. t., r. c., “p. a.”, r.f.), with the exception of the most commonly used (etc.; and so on; i.e.,). N (north latitude) and W (west longitude) are used in geological journals.
2. In geological journals: southwestern—SW instead of S-W and s-w.
DIMENSIONS
1. Dimensions are separated from a number by a space (100 kPa, 77 K, 10.34(2) A), except for degree, percent, pro mil symbols: 90°, 20°C, 50%, 10‰. Fractional dimensions: 58 J/mole, 50 m/s2.
2. For complex dimensions, it is permitted to use both negative powers (J mole–1 K–1) and brackets {J/mole K) or J(mole K)–1} if this makes easier to read them. The main condition is to observe uniformity in the spelling of analogous dimensions.
3. When enumerating and using numeric intervals, a dimension is given only for the last number (18– 20 J/mole), with the exception of angular degrees.
4. Centigrade degrees are given as follows: 5°C, and not 5°. Angular degrees are never omitted: 5°–10° instead of 5–10°.
5. Dimensions of variables are written with a comma (E, kJ/mole); those of sublogarithmic values are given in square brackets without a comma: lnt [min].
SPACES BETWEEN WORDS
1. References to figures and tables are typed with spaces (Fig. 1, Table 2 instead of Fig.1, Table2).
2. Quotation marks and brackets are not separated by spaces from the words confined in them: (at 300 K), (a); instead of (at 300 K), (a).
3. A space is placed between the sign of a number and paragraph: (no. 1; § 5.65).
4. Ciphers with letters in designations are typed without spaces: (IVd; 1.3.14a; Fig. 1e).
5. Latitudes in geographical coordinates are separated by spaces: 56.5° N; 85.0° E instead of 56.5°N; 85.0°E.
LIST OF REFERENCES
The list of references first presents the citations to works published in Russian in the alphabetic order of authors' surnames. The list of cited works published in other languages by the principle of the Latin alphabet is given below. The works of the same authors are cited in chronological order independently of whether there are coauthors. If there are several papers dated to the same year, the year should be given with letters and a, b, c. All surnames and initials of authors are presented unless indicated otherwise in the original citation. The complete title of an paper in the language of the original and output publication data must be indicated after the surnames of authors (year, number, volume, first and last pages). Examples:

RULES FOR THE AUTHORS FOR WORKING WITH ELECTRONIC CORRECTIONS
The PDF file of the galley proof is sent to the authors via e-mail for purposes of electronic correction. Files can be read and edited using Adobe Acrobat Reader (versions 9 and above), which can be downloaded free from the Internet: http://get.adobe.com/ reader. Notes must be made directly in the PDF file of the paper using the “Comments and Markup” toolbar. Do not use other programs to correct PDF-files, otherwise, the notes may be lost during automatic processing of responses. The name of a PDF and subject of the e-mail-message must not be changed for the same reason.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR MAKING CORRECTIONS IN A PDF FILE
1. Open the PDF file of the paper using Acrobat Reader.
2. If there is no “Comments and Markup” toolbar on screen, it can be opened for quick access:
2.1. Select the command “Adjust toolbars…” in the “Tools” menu. It is necessary to check the “Comments and Markup” toolbar in the opened window and check the tools you intend to use. Press “OK”.
3. To use the text correction tools, it is necessary to select a necessary text fragment in the file and press the button of a corresponding tool:
3.1. Removing text: the “Remove Text” tool (red color).
3.2. Replacing text: the “Replace the Marked Text” tool (blue color).
3.3. Paste text: the “Paste Text at the Place of Cursor” tool.
4. To use the drawing and remark tools, first select a tool and then indicate a place in the text.
5. If you need to paste or replace text with complex formatting or specific print, type it in a text editor, copy, and paste in the remark or use the “Offset Line” tool. Symbols that lose formatting when being pasted in this way can be copied by the “Snapshot” tool and pasted using the “Stamp” tool, drawn by the “Pencil” tool, or described in words.
6. When correcting complex formulas and figures, refer to the original, use the “Pencil” tool, or copy with the “Snapshot” tool and paste using the “Stamp” Tool.
7. Corrections must be clear and visible when a page is browsed through visually. Do not paste objects above the existing text.
8. In exceptional situations, when it is impossible to make corrections in the PDF file of the paper (for example, when a figure is replaced), a necessary file can be appended to the letter in a corresponding place using the “Add File” tool. Commentary explaining what is being replaced with what and for what reason must be placed nearby.
9. To make repeat corrections, use the search function (Ctrl + F).
