About the journal
The Canadian Journal of Behavioural Science normally publishes original, empirical contributions in the following areas of psychology: abnormal, behavioural, community, counselling, educational, environmental, developmental, health, industrial-organizational, clinical neuropsychological, personality, psychometrics, and social. A limited amount of space is also available in the journal for brief reports with theoretical and practical implications. In addition to presenting important case studies, the Brief Reports section can also be used for psychometric reports, to disseminate Canadian norms or forms for standardized tests, and for summarizing programme evaluation studies.
Instructions to Authors
Formats. All manuscripts should be prepared for a diverse audience, should be written in French or English using non-sexist language, and should follow the style described in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 5th edition, 2001 (double-spaced throughout, 2.54cm margins on all sides, 12-point font). Brief Reports will be no longer than five journal pages, so a Brief Report manuscript would not normally exceed 2500 words in text and would have no more than one table or figure. Authors of a Brief Report must state that a fuller report will be provided upon request. A digital copy of the manuscript should accompany paper copies submitted to the editor.
Conditions. Each manuscript submission should be accompanied by a cover letter to the editor from the corresponding author stating: a) that the manuscript is not and will not be under concurrent consideration by another publication; b) that all co-authors have read and approved of the submission; and c) that the treatment of participants has been in compliance with relevant ethical standards.
Addresses. In addition to postal addresses and phone numbers, the corresponding author should supply an e-mail address for editorial correspondence. All English manuscripts should be sent in quadruplicate (along with the digital copy), with three copies bearing no author identification to facilitate blind review, to:
