About the journal
American Heart Journal has been a trusted resource for cardiologists and general practice physicians for more than 70 years. The Journal focuses its content to respond to the information needs of the cardiology community. In addition to publishing results of important clinical investigations, the Journal addresses such topics as cost-effectiveness, design of clinical trials, reports of negative clinical trials, and the changing organization of medical care. "AHJ at the Meetings" reports the key findings from major cardiovascular meetings, providing readers with ready access to the most recent clinical research data.
Instructions to Authors
Editorial ManagerTM, the Web-based peer review system for the American Heart Journal, will be available in February 2003 for electronic submissions of manuscripts and reviews. Web-based peer review provides full electronic capabilities for submission, review, and status updates, and speeds manuscript turnaround and global access for authors, reviewers, and editors.
All individuals currently in our database for whom we have e-mail addresses will receive, via e-mail, a system-assigned username and password that can be used to log into the system without prior registration. All those not receiving the e-mail must register the first time they use the system. Instructions on how to do this will be in a forthcoming issue.
As with any broad systemic change, the conversion to the new system will take some time to complete. We ask your patience as we implement these exciting changes. We also encourage you to take advantage of the speed and efficiency that the new system will provide for us all: author, editor, reviewer, and publisher.
