Instructions to Authors
Purpose of the Journal:
Family & Community Health (FCH) is an interprofessional journal that provides a forum to discuss family and community health care, health promotion, and maintenance, innovations, and evidence based approaches in health care. The goal is to discuss ways to reduce the number of illnesses requiring hospitalization and cut the cost of health care. Since many illnesses can be prevented through adequate diet and nutrition, regular exercise, stress management and periodic health appraisals, FCH focuses on these and other issues related to better individual, family and community health. A particular emphasis is given to how individuals, groups, and populations can effectively promote and maintain health. Some of the quarterly issues of FCH focus on a specific topic while others are open to a more general discussion of creative, innovative approaches. Issues contains articles from health care educators, researchers, and practitioners who are committed to improving health. Each issue is suitable for use as a text or supplement in educational programs such as nursing, social work, health education, medicine, nutrition, and public health. There is a designated Issue Editor for each issue.
