The Scandinavian Journal of Educational Research is especially keen to encourage publication of original contributions from all fields of educational research and thinking, thus mirroring the subject in its full breadth and diversity through articles of professional quality. While presenting international research of general interest and importance, it is the Editorial Board's intention that the Scandinavian Journal for Educational Research should also reflect the ongoing educational research in the Nordic countries where wide-reaching and advanced reforms have attracted attention and interest from around the world. The Journal offers researchers the opportunity to keep in touch with trends in educational research in Scandinavia. The Journal does not consider manuscripts for publication if they have already been reported elsewhere. Posting a manuscript on a host computer to which anyone on the Internet can gain access constitutes prior publication.
Presentation of typescripts. Typescripts (three copies please) should be sent as follows: for authors in the Nordic countries, please send your typescript to the appropriate National Editor, whose address can be found in the list of
National Editors. If you live outside Scandinavia, please send your typescript to the General Manager:
Dr Øyvind L. Martinsen, Institute for Leadership and Organizational Management, Norwegian School of Management, Nydalsveien 37, 0442 Oslo, Norway, with ample margins, and bear the title of the contribution, name(s) of the author(s) and the address where the work was carried out. Each article should be accompanied by an abstract of 100-150 words and not more than four key words on a separate sheet. The full postal address, fax and telephone numbers of the author who will check proofs and receive correspondence and offprints should also be included. All pages should be numbered. Footnotes to the text should be avoided where reasonably possible.
Electronic Submission. Authors should send the final, revised version of their articles in both hard copy paper and electronic disk forms. It is essential that the hard copy (paper) version exactly matches the material on disk. Please print out the hard copy from the disk you are sending. Submit three printed copies of the final version with the disk to the journal's editorial office. Save all files on a standard 3.5 inch high-density disk. We prefer to receive disks in Microsoft Word in a PC format, but can translate from most other common word processing programs as well as Macs. Please specify which program you have used. Do not save your files as "text only" or "read only".
Tables and captions to illustrations. Tables should be typed out on separate sheets and not included as part of the text. The captions to illustrations should be gathered together and also typed out on a separate sheet. Tables and figures should be numbered by Arabic numerals. The approximate position of tables and figures should be indicated in the typescript. Captions should include keys to symbols.
Figures. Please supply one set of artwork in a finished form, suitable for reproduction. Figures will not normally be redrawn by the publisher.
References should be indicated in the typescript by giving the author's name, with the year of publication in parentheses, as detailed in the APA style guide (but please note the example below for showing a book that is not in English).See www.apa.org for further information. If several papers by the same author(s) and from the same year are cited, a, b, c, etc. should be put after the year of publication. The references should be listed in full at the end of the paper in standard APA format. For example:
