About the journal

The Yale Law Journal is published eight times a year (monthly from October through June, excluding February) by The Yale Law Journal Company, Inc. Editorial and general offices are located in the Sterling Law Building at Yale University. POSTMASTER: Send address changes to The Yale Law Journal, P.O. Overview
As described in our Call for Papers [.pdf], The Yale Law Journal Pocket Part publishes original essays, responses to the arguments made in the printed pages of The Yale Law Journal, and commentaries on recent legal events. We strongly encourage submissions of between 1000 and 1500 words. All submissions should be written in a style accessible to a general audience of practitioners and policy-makers, and should conform to our Style Guide [.pdf].

The Pocket Part uses a blind submission process. In order to ensure an impartial review of your submission, please identify yourself in your cover letter, but do not identify yourself in your electronic submission.
We hope to respond within two weeks, and to publish within a month of acceptance.
