The Latest Studies and Theories on Nursing Research
The Western Journal of Nursing Research is an international periodical that's ranked among the top nursing research journals. Since its inception over two decades ago, the WJNR has risen to the challenges of the ever-changing nursing research field, providing an innovative forum for nurse researchers, students and clinical practitioners to participate in ongoing scholarly debate.
Research, Commentary, and Response
To give you a well-balanced perspective on the information presented, each bimonthly issue of the Western Journal of Nursing Research offers clinical research reports broadened by commentaries and authors' responses. Your participation is invited through reviews, commentaries, and research papers as well as your submissions to the department editors and Letters to the Editor in the Information Exchange section.

Instructions to Authors
Manuscript Submission Guidelines:
Western Journal of Nursing Research is a bimonthly journal devoted to the dissemination of research studies, book reviews, discussion and debate, all directed to a general nursing audience. Contributiosn are accepted from nurses within and outside the United States.
MANUSCRIPTS and REVIEWS should be submitted in quadruplicate (keep a copy for your files) to Pamela J Brink, Executive Editor, WJNR, University of Alberta, Faculty of Nursing, 3-107 Clinical Sciences Building, Edmonton, Alberta T6G 2G3, Canada
A copy of the final revised manuscript saved on an IBM-Compatible disk should accompany the final revised hard copy. Acceptable manuscript length varies and is dependent on subject and scope (maximum acceptable length is 15 pages). Only manuscripts on 81/2 x 11 white bond paper, typed double-spaced on one side of the paper, will be accepted for consideration. Manuscripts should be prepared in accordance with the guidelines set forth by American Psychological Association (APA).
All identifying information about the author(s) should be on the title page only. The title page should include the article title, the name and academic degree(s) of each author, and each author's institutional affiliation, current mailing address, and business telephone and tax numbers. All source(s) of support such as grants should be designated as Footnote 1. For papers having multiple authors, one author should be designated as correspondent. Author(s) will be listed in print as they appear on the manuscript title page.
Simultaneous submissions are not acceptable. Previously published articles are not acceptable. Submission of a manuscript to WJNR implies commitment to publish in the journal.
