National Urban Policy Examines key issues in United States' urban policy, conentrating on the critical impact of programme changes at the federal level. Urban Economic Development Explores the economic and political problems of urban areas, including the complex economic issues of private-sector business and public finance. Residential and Community Development Analyses such topics as neighbourhood quality, gentrification, neighbourhood services, attitudes about community life, community change and residential choice. Metropolitan Governance and Service Delivery Addresses issues in housing, transit, service industries, planning processes, urban politics and metropolitan government. Explores the interaction among governmental fragmentation, citizen groups and the quality of service-delivery systems. Comparative/International Urban Research Examines urban development throughout the world, placing economic development, urbanization, planning processes and social/cultural change in a comparative perspective Social and Cultural Dynamics Analyzes the intricate social and cultural dynamics of cities, including their people, places, neighbourhoods and employment. Full-length manuscripts should not exceed 30 pages total and research notes should not exceed 14 pages total (including footnotes, references, and tables or figures). All text, footnotes, and references should be typewritten with one-inch margins and double-spaced. All references to the author's previous work should be omitted in the text. Bibliographic citations should follow the Chicago Manual style 'B.' Copies of the style sheets may be obtained from the editors. A brief biographical paragraph describing each author's current affiliation, research interests, and recent publications should be submitted, and an abstract of approximately 100 words should accompany each copy of the manuscript. Manuscripts will not be returned to authors. Please keep copies for your own needs. The editor assumes that manuscripts are for the exclusive consideration of UAR and have not simultaneously been submitted elsewhere.
