The Department of Biochemistry in Oxford is one of the largest in Europe, and the teaching and research reflect the current growth and excitement in the subject. It is housed in six linked buildings with the main teaching laboratories and lecture theatres in a central tower. The buildings form part of the Science Area and the University science library, which has a lending section specially for science undergraduates, is a few minutes' walk away. There are about thirty-five academic staff, one hundred postdoctoral research workers and one hundred and fifty postgraduate research students. |
