Up-to-Date Research, Theory, and Analyses on Marriage and Family Life For over 20 years, the Journal of Family Issues has served as an important forum on current research, theory, and analyses for those who work with and study families. Each issue features articles, commentaries, and advocacy pieces designed to help you understand the challenges confronting today's families.
Interdisciplinary Perspective The Journal of Family Issues offers you more than just scholarly insight into the social and institutional forces shaping today's families. With JFI, you'll also examine professional issues, research developments, and practical applications from an interdisciplinary perspective, encompassing such areas as: * Family Studies * Family Violence * Gender Studies * Psychology * Social Work * Sociology
Instructions to Authors
Manuscripts should be submitted in quadruplicate¡ªone file copy for our records (one-side, double-spaced) and three copies (double-sided, double-spaced) to be sent out for review¡ªaccompanied by an IBM compatible disk copy. Manuscripts to be considered for the general issues should be sent to: Constance Shehan, Editor, Journal of Family Issues, Department of Sociology, University of Florida, 3219 Turlington Hall, P.O. Box 117330, Gainesville, FL 32611. Manuscripts to be considered for the special issues should be sent to the guest editor for the issue at his or her address. Each manuscript should be accompanied by a cover sheet giving title, author(s), affiliation(s), acknowledgments, along with the full mailing address, phone and fax numbers, and the e-mail address for the corresponding author. There should be no reference to the authors in the text and footnotes. References style guidelines can be obtained from the editor. Manuscripts should not exceed 30 typewritten double-spaced pages (including footnotes, references, tables, and figures). Authors should include an abstract of approximately 150 words. Manuscripts cannot be returned to authors. Submission of a manuscript implies commitment to publish in the journal. Authors submitting manuscripts to the journal should not simultaneously submit them to another journal, nor should manuscripts have been published elsewhere in substantially similar form or with substantially similar content. Authors in doubt about what constitutes prior publication should consult the editor. The Journal of Family Issues does not publish book reviews.
