About the journal
The Institute of Scientific Information Journal Citations Report for 2005 ranks the Journal of Constructivist Psychology in the Developmental Psychology (social science) category.
Psychology and related disciplines throughout the human sciences and humanities have been revolutionized by a postmodern emphasis on the role of language, human systems, and personal knowledge in the construction of social realities.
The Journal of Constructivist Psychology is the first publication to provide a professional forum for this emerging focus, embracing such diverse expressions of constructivism as personal construct theory, constructivist marriage and family therapy, structural-developmental and language-based approaches to psychology, and narrative psychology.
Each issue features departments highlighting theoretical, empirical, and methodological developments in constructivist and social constructionist scholarship, as well as contributions to professional practice.

Instructions to Authors
Submission of Manuscripts
Authors can submit manuscripts either by email or post, though email submission is generally preferred: BY E-MAIL: Authors should submit manuscripts as email attachments in MS Word format to j.construct.psych@gmail.com. Two (2) versions of the paper should be included as attach-ments. The first version should include author names, addresses, emails, and other identifying information on the cover page only. The second version should exclude this identifying information to allow for blind review. BY POST: Authors should submit four (4) hard copies and a computer CD with two (2) versions of the manuscript file included on it. The hard copies should include author names, addresses, emails, and other identifying information on the cover page only to allow for blind review. The CD copies should be in Microsoft Word format on a CD that is clearly labeled with author names and file names on the front of it. The first file version on the CD should include author names, addresses, emails, and other identifying information on the cover page only. The second file version on the CD should exclude this identifying information to allow for blind review. Otherwise, the electronic and hard copies must match each other exactly. Submissions by post should be sent to Robert A. Neimeyer, Ph.D., Department of Psychology, University of Memphis, Memphis, TN 38152, USA.
All parts of the manuscript should be typewritten, double-spaced, with margins of at least one inch on all sides. Number manuscript pages consecutively throughout the paper. Authors should also supply a shortened version of the title suitable for the running head, not exceeding 50 character spaces. Each article should be summarized in an abstract of no more that 100 words. Avoid abbreviations, diagrams, and reference to the text.
Manuscripts, including tables, figures, and references, should be prepared in accordance with the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (Fifth Edition, 2000). Copies of the manual can be purchased from APA at http://www.apa.org/books/4200060.html.
Illustrations
Illustrations submitted (line drawings, halftones, photos, photomicrographs, etc.) should be clean originals or digital files. Digital files are recommended for highest quality reproduction and should follow these guidelines:
- 300 dpi or higher
- sized to fit on journal page
- EPS, TIFF, or PSD format only
- submitted as separate files, not embedded in text files
Color illustrations will be considered for publication; however, the author will be required to bear the full cost involved in their printing and publication. The charge for the first page with color is $900.00. The next three pages with color are $450.00 each. A custom quote will be provided for color art totaling more than 4 journal pages. Good-quality color prints or files should be provided in their final size. The publisher has the right to refuse publication of color prints deemed unacceptable.
Tables and Figures
Tables and figures should not be embedded in the text, but should be included as separate sheets or files. A short descriptive title should appear above each table with a clear legend and any footnotes suitably identified below. All units must be included. Figures should be completely labeled, taking into account necessary size reduction. Captions should be typed, double-spaced, on a separate sheet. All original figures should be clearly marked in pencil on the reverse side with the number, author’s name, and top edge indicated.
Proofs
One set of page proofs will be sent to the designated author. Proofs should be checked and returned within 48 hours.
Reprints
Each corresponding author of an article will receive 1 complimentary copy of the issue in which the article appears. Reprints of individual articles are available for order at the time authors review page proofs. A discount on reprints is available to authors who order before print publication.
