About the journal
The Journal of Contingencies and Crisis Management is an invaluable source of information on all aspects of contingency planning, scenario analysis and crisis management in both corporate and public sectors. It focuses on the opportunities and threats facing organizations and presents analysis and case studies of crisis prevention, crisis planning, recovery and turnaround management. With contributions from world-wide sources including corporations, governmental agencies, think tanks and influential academics, this publication provides a vital platform for the exchange of strategic and operational experience, information and knowledge.

Instructions to Authors
The editors welcome inter-disciplinary submissions dealing with contingency analysis of opportunities and threats facing governments, non-governmental organizations, corporations, firms and agencies: analysis and case studies of public and corporate sector crisis situations; and analysis and case studies of recovery and turnaround management concerning public sector agencies and corporations.
While the journal is multi-disciplinary in outlook, approach and content, it is empirically grounded and strategically focused on management and policy agendas. Contributions from areas such as public administration, business management, computing studies, policy sciences, futuristics, expert systems, communication studies, industrial management, technology forecasting, social psychology, sociology and political science are welcomed.

2. The manuscripts should be submitted electronically on a 3.5 inch floppy diskette, a CD-ROM, or as a file attached to email (using Word). Each manuscript should include (on a separate covering page) the number of words and the author's name, title, current address, e-mail address, telephone and fax number(s).
3. All correspondence will be through e-mail.
4. The Journal of Contingencies and Crisis Management (JCCM) cannot consider for publication manuscripts which have already been published or which are being considered by other journals or which contributors are planning to submit to other journals while JCCM would be considering the same. Authors are asked to explicitly confirm this.
5. A confirmation will be sent to the author when his/her article has been received. He/she also will be informed about the time schedule and expected issue in which the article might appear.
6. Articles are independently refereed by two experts. They are sent to the referees anonymously. Authors will receive the comments of the referees. Please allow at least 6 weeks for an answer from the editors as to whether an article has been accepted.
7. If your paper is accepted, the author identified as the formal corresponding author for the paper will receive an email prompting them to login into Author Services; where via the Wiley Author Licensing Service (WALS) they will be able to complete the license agreement on behalf of all authors on the paper.

8. Contributions should be submitted in the English language using British spelling.
9. Contributions should be of the following lengths:
Book Reviews: 800-1200 words
Articles: 4000-7000 words
Research Notes: 1500-3000 words
Review Essays: 1200-2400 words
10. The editors may alter the text of contributions in order to make it conform with the JCCM editorial style.
11. On publication all authors and contributors will receive a hardcopy of the relevant issue and an official PDF offprint of their article. They are also entitled to discount purchases of copies in which their contribution appears.
12. STYLE GUIDELINES: Emphasis should be made by printing in italics, and underlining should be avoided by bolding. First paragraphs (after a heading) should be flush to the margin with subsequent paragraphs first-line indented five spaces. Dates should be written as: 3 April 1991; a decade may be written as: 1990s; pairs of dates may be hyphenated as: 1980-1990. Single quotation marks should be used when quoting an author; double quotation marks should be used in other circumstances.
13. REFERENCES IN ARTICLES: There are several software packages available to help authors manage and format the references and footnotes in their journal article. We recommend the use of a software tool such as EndNote or Reference Manager for reference management and formatting.

Footnotes are to be avoided and should take the form of endnotes, avoiding unnecessary elaboration. Use brief parenthetical citations in the manuscript text, with all cited sources listed alphabetically in the reference section of the paper. Parenthetical citations in the body of the text should include the name of the author of the cited material and the date of the reference, e.g. (Lowi, 1965); include page number of references to a direct quote, e.g. (Downs, 1954: 54). For multiple listings, citations should be in date order and alphabetical order within the same year; use semi-colons between citations. For multiple works which have the same author(s) and publication date, use 'a', 'b' after the date of the cited item, e.g. (Coffman, 1984a). Page numbers for chapters in books are essential.

14. FIGURES AND TABLES: Each figure and table should be clearly identified and as a separate page. Figures and tables should be professionally and clearly presented. Electronic copies should initially be submitted with the manuscript, but contributors should be prepared to provide high-resolution original versions of figures if necessary.
