About the journal

General guidelines
Please observe that from 1 January 2006 the journal has been published in English. Consequently, manuscripts will be accepted only if submitted in English.
NORDIC PSYCHOLOGY, Theory and Research for Practice, publishes contributions from all psychological fields.
articles must be in English
contributions must be empirical or theoretical original works that can be presented as articles, descriptions from projects or practice or as presentations of theses
all contributions are referee-reviewed with a view to their possible publication
authors of articles do not receive a fee
Manuscripts must be drafted in accordance with the following guidelines:
Electronic copies of the manuscript is submitted to the national editors
Nordic Psychology applies the APA rules of publication as given in the edition from 2006.
the manuscript must be divided into paragraphs of suitable length with their own headline and be written in an easily understandable language
use 1.5 line spacing and leave a spacious margin in the manuscript, the length of which must not exceed 20 A-4 pages, incl. bibliography
figures and diagrams must be ready for printing
the bibliography and references must be drafted in accordance with standardised guidelines (see below)
in the case of articles, a 10-15 line English summary is drafted with the headline of the article - furthermore, a brief biographical note on the author is submitted. Please include place of work, address, telephone number, fax and e-mail address
Instructions to Authors
The manuscript must contain the following
Name, profession and address
Title of the article (brief and informative)
Write the text in one column with a ragged right margin. Please submit the text as a Word file
Insert paragraphs in the text where it comes naturally. Please avoid too long paragraphs
Please aim at consistent punctuation and spelling (also in abbreviations)
References and bibliography
References in the text must be written in a parenthesis and contain the name of the author and the year of publication. For example (Jones, 1995) or Jones (1995). When referring to lwork written by more than three authors, et al. is used. When referring to work written by three authors the very first time, it is written in full (Jones, Smith & McCullen, 2004), while later references are given using et al. (Jones, et al., 2004). In the bibliography, all work is given in full.
The bibliography is given in alphabetical order using the author's surname. As a general rule, the following principles are observed:
Article in a journal
McArthur, D.J. (2002). Computer vision and perceptual psychology. Psychological Bulletin, 92, 282-339.
Books
Bernstein, T.M. (2006). The careful writer. New York: Atheneum.
Chapters from edited books:
Wood, A. (1999). The reinforcement of anxiety. I J.T. Kelly (Ed.), Theories of psychopathology (ss.50-93). Springfield, Ill.: C.C. Thomas.
