Journal of Geographical Systems, a journal dedicated to geographical information, analysis, theory, and decision, aims to encourage and promote high quality scholarship on important theoretical and practical issues in regional science, geography, the environmental sciences, and planning. One of the distinctive features of the journal is its concern for the interface between mathematical modelling, the geographical information sciences, and regional issues. An important goal of the journal is to encourage interdisciplinary communication and research, especially when spatial analysis, spatial theory and spatial decision systems are the themes. In particular, the journal seeks to promote interaction between the theorists and users of the geographical information sciences and practitioners in the fields of regional science, geography, and planning. Instructions to Authors   Manuscript Submission Submission of a manuscript implies: that the work described has not been published before; that it is not under consideration for publication anywhere else; that its publication has been approved by all co-authors, if any, as well as by the responsible authorities " tacitly or explicitly " at the institute where the work has been carried out.
