Journal of Geographical Systems, a journal dedicated to geographical information, analysis, theory, and decision, aims to encourage and promote high quality scholarship on important theoretical and practical issues in regional science, geography, the environmental sciences, and planning. One of the distinctive features of the journal is its concern for the interface between mathematical modelling, the geographical information sciences, and regional issues. An important goal of the journal is to encourage interdisciplinary communication and research, especially when spatial analysis, spatial theory and spatial decision systems are the themes. In particular, the journal seeks to promote interaction between the theorists and users of the geographical information sciences and practitioners in the fields of regional science, geography, and planning.
