Please state the number of words in your manuscript on its front page. Each manuscript must contain an abstract of approximately 100 words.

In your submission, please state that: (i) the article has not been published in any language before; (ii) it is not being considered concurrently for publication elsewhere; and (iii) the research reported in the manuscript was conducted in accordance with general ethical guidelines in psychology.

If you prefer a blind review, please contact the Editorial Office directly on ajsp@psych.unimelb.edu.au

Copyright
Authors publishing in the Journal will be asked to sign an Exclusive Licence Form. In signing the form it is assumed that authors have obtained permission to use any copyrighted or previously published material. All authors must read and agree to the conditions outlined in the form, and must sign the form or agree that the corresponding author can sign on their behalf. Articles cannot be published until a signed form has been received. Authors can download the form from http://www.blackwellpublishing.com/pdf/Ajsp_elf.pdf.

Author material archive policy
Authors who require the return of any submitted material that is accepted for publication should inform the Editorial Office after acceptance. If no indication is given that author material should be returned, Blackwell Publishing will dispose of all hardcopy and electronic material two months after publication.

Proofs
It is essential that corresponding authors supply an email address to which correspondence can be emailed while their article is in production.
Word files of edited articles will be sent for checking via email, and should be returned to the Publisher. It is essential that these files are checked carefully, as the cost of changes made at a later stage may be charged to the author. Full instructions on how to correct and return the file will be attached to the email.
e-proofs
Notification of the URL from where to download a Portable Document Format (PDF) typeset page proof and further instructions will be sent by email to the corresponding author. The purpose of the PDF proof is a final check of the layout, and of tables and figures. Alterations other than the essential correction of errors are unacceptable at PDF proof stage. The proof should be checked, and approval to publish the article should be emailed to the Publisher by the date indicated, otherwise, it may be signed off on by the Editor or held over to the next issue.
Acrobat Reader will be required to read the PDF. This software can be downloaded free of charge from the following website: www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html. Acrobat Reader will enable the file to be opened, read on screen and printed out in order for any corrections to be added. Further instructions will be sent with the proof.

Online Early
Asian Journal of Social Psychology is covered by Blackwell Publishing's OnlineEarly service. OnlineEarly articles are complete full-text articles published online in advance of their publication in a printed issue. Articles are therefore available as soon as they are ready, rather than having to wait for the next scheduled print issue. OnlineEarly articles are complete and final. They have been fully reviewed, revised and edited for publication, and the authors' final corrections have been incorporated. Because they are in final form, no changes can be made after online publication. The nature of OnlineEarly articles means that they do not yet have volume, issue or page numbers, so OnlineEarly articles cannot be cited in the traditional way. They are therefore given a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), which allows the article to be cited and tracked before it is allocated to an issue. After print publication, the DOI remains valid and can continue to be used to cite and access the article. More information about DOIs can be found at http://www.doi.org/faq.html

Offprints
A free PDF offprint will be supplied to the corresponding author. A minimum of 50 additional paper offprints will be provided upon request, at the author's
expense. These paper offprints may be ordered online. Please visit http://offprint.cosprinters.com/, fill in the necessary details and ensure that you type information in all of the required fields. If you have queries about offprints please email offprint@cosprinters.com

Ethical considerations
Authors must state that the protocol for the research project has been approved by a suitably constituted Ethics Committee of the institution within which the work was undertaken and that it conforms to the provisions of the Declaration of Helsinki in 1995 (as revised in Edinburgh 2000), available at http://www.wma.net/e/policy/b3.htm

Online guidelines
Authors are encouraged to visit the Blackwell Publishing website for authors at http://www.blackwellpublishing.com/bauthor/journal.asp which details further information on the preparation and submission of articles and figures and gives access to the Blackwell house style guide.
